Re: MATCHWATCH : Mansfield Town (h)

windermereROYAL I did notice the refs first reaction was to look at the lino, if there was the GLT he wouldn`t have needed to.

I may have been imagining it but I thought he also looked at his wrist - as an EPL ref he may have forgotten that the technology didn't exist in this game!

Re: Injury watch 2025/26

On the Grass really has just become a completely meaningless phrase now hasn’t it? Be nice if journos didn’t just accept that as an answer Contact makes a bit more sense - guessing it’s still a couple of weeks min for Paudie I assume 'on the grass' means out of the gym and actually kicking a ball a...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Mansfield Town (h)

Do we have goal line technology in L1? because their shot that hit the bar looked awfully close to being over the line, the lino was in a perfect position right by the corner flag tbf. It was certainly in use against Wrexham in the cup. At least according to the commentators Apparently not in conti...

Re: Stadium

Yeah I've seen a video of the top layer of plastic getting burned off, revealing a bright colour beneath. Or whatever the scientific process is. I am sure our seats are capable of that. I think they need to get the safe standing rails sorted sooner rather than later. I can see it becoming a require...

Re: Stadium

From the Couhig Q&A : 12. Are there any plans to bring Safe standing to the SCL? Following a discussion with other Staff members earlier today, the topic of safe standing was brought up. Rob said it will be explored and looked at. It’s not just the 1871 area of the ground that could see the int...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

Link to transcript of Rob Couhig Q & A session - https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2025/october/02/rob-couhig-meets-supporters-in-q-a-session/ Was a good event and Rob was very candid with us (probably 80ish in attendance). That summary doesn't seem to have missed out anything that was said, so ...

Re: Fanatics and merchandising

Just seen a tweet about someone having a wasted journey to the Fanstore, which was closed when it should've been open. It seems that Fanatics decided they needed to do a 'minor urgent refurbishment' and a stock check/system update, which meant the Fanstore was/is closed for several days. Fair enough...

Re: Injury watch 2025/26

i notice in the clubs training vid ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5blM4Lc-xwU ) that Hunt suggests (1.30 mins in) to the new players that we train with more intensity than other teams and if 'they get a kick' it is just how it is here. No idea if this contributes to the amount of injuries the te...

The way this injury crisis is growing who can we expect to be joining the backroom staff next?

Re: Royals TV Match Commentary; better or worse?

I usually listen to the prematch chat on BRB, and it always cuts out for me on Sounds. Yes and often doesn't kick back in again until quite some time after the game has ended (at least that's my experience when listening as I walk away from The SCL post match. I wasn't a great fan of Dellor and oft...

Re: Fanatics and merchandising

Fanatics are getting binned off all coming back in house again imminently. If there’s a contract until 2028 it will presumably cost the club to get out early so if the club does that it’d have to be fairly sure that it’s replacement merchandising plans for the next couple of years at least recoup t...

Re: Fanatics and merchandising

Having been messed around so much in the past by Fanatics, I will not buy any club merchandise online. I still buy from the Fan Store which I realise is also run by Fanatics but the staff in there are really good and at least I know whether what I want is in stock so that I can get my hands on it i...

Re: Fanatics and merchandising

I’ve been listening to the Price of Football podcast and there’s been a couple of questions regarding merchandising: whether clubs should do their merchandising inhouse or whether it is better for them to outsource it to a third party and how much clubs make from shirt sales. Apparently clubs recei...

Re: Hunt out.

Maybe one for ex-players thread, but it looks like Parkinson could leave Wrexham without quick improvements. If Hunt did get sacked, there is a Reading legend who you would back to bring immediate improvements to the team. However, football would be "pragmatic" and if he did get us promot...

Re: Car park 6 for Orient game

Hi, Unfortunately there are currently contract issues as now that Virgin Media does not use the Greyhound car park any more, the owners of the car park now want us pay the entire yearly contract, even though we use the car park less than once every other week. So we are currently in negotiations wi...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

Just a side note: One of the Asst Referees today (Alan Higgs) used to referee my kids' games over twenty years ago, When I mentioned that, he told me that he will be 72 this year but he has to keep going as it gets him away from his wife!

Re: Reading FC Womens World

This was the first time that I've seen the Women's team play since their catastrophic demise courtesy of Dai and his mates. No disrespect to those involved with the team now but it really did bring home how far we have dropped down the pyramid. IMO substitutions and one seemingly shocking decision f...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

Just reading about London Lionesses and their new "wealthy" American owner Michele Kang. Wonder if she is the woman Couhig said wanted to take over the RFC Women's team. I think she’d already bought the Lionesses before that. I think there was a wife of an American footballer (funny shape...
