Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Glad to have gone in the end, wouldn't want to have missed that. Thoroughly entertaining game. Luton play really attractive football; looks like with time they could well turn into an excellent side, maybe just a bit lacking in finishing. As for us, there was greater intensity than I've seen in rece...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

I've had a season ticket for 25 years. I reckon I've missed no more than twelve games during that time - weddings, hospital stays, or holidays. I have never, ever not gone when I could have. And yet tonight, for the first time in all of those years, I really am only going out of duty. Shìtty bus jou...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

The rain is due to peter out around 17:00. But that's a lot of water already fallen. Meaning it will probably be referee's inspection, which won't happen until they get here, so will be quite late in the day.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Royalcop Club have confirmed on social media that the ‘enhanced fun zone’ has been cancelled due to the weather - unsure if the game itself is at risk. There has been a lot of rain today.

It seems quite possible there will be a postponement, I just wish the club would give an update either way now.

Re: Reading hit with winding-up petition by former chief executive

Delboy I think he has not been paid the commission on the sale, Dai should pay but assume it was the club employing him at the time , Courig would counter claim against Dai .

Getting hold of Dai might be complicated.

SouthDownsRoyal Brendan Rodgers named manager of Saudi team, Al-Qadsiah

I’m sure he joined due to the quality of the Saudi league

"I'm very happy to be here at Al-Bequidsin."

It's probably a life long dream.

Re: Ex Royals

Ex Reading Academy and West Ham player Thierry Nevers 23 has been jailed for 3 years for dealing drugs. Disappointing his life has gone that way. He was supposed to have a lot of potential. I saw him loads as a youngster, up until about 14. Nice enough lad, worked really hard at his football. It's ...

Re: Time to defend Mark Bowen?

I know, Kia's man and part of the Dai regime. But... Built a squad that nearly stayed in the Championship despite impossible circumstances. Gave us our best window and managerial appointment in a decade after relegation. It would have been the famed "relegation reset" had off pitch matter...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (h)

Hardly original for me to say: that was just excruciating. Beyond awful. Inept, disorganised, clueless. There was some evidence of effort. Doyle was our best player, so he got subbed. Abrefa was OK. That's honestly about it. I know it was a collective failure, and hence not the fault of any single i...

Thought I'd have a quick look on here to enjoy all of the praise for Kyerewaa for his outstanding performance and attitude.

It's a bit muted. Perhaps humble pie isn't to everyone's taste.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (h)

We were more solid defensively. That may be down to an emerging Williams / O'Connor partnership now they're both available than any tactical tweaks. Other than that, I personally didn't see anything different from a Hunt side. With a full two weeks I expected to see something. Perhaps the task is b...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (h)

Awful football. Was really expecting an improvement - Richardson has had two full weeks to exert some influence, but if anything, it was more inept that the last few performances under Hunt. On the positive side, one of the best strikes I've seen in 25 year following Reading. Plus Kelvin E really pu...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stevenage (h)

Unusual for a referee to change their mind - well done to the assistant. Maybe the presence of the TV cameras helped persuade the ref to take his assistant’s advice. Savage and Wing were less dominant, not because they weren’t involved, but that others were, particularly Kyerewaa and Doyle. The back...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stevenage (h)

How depressing is it going into a home league game against Stevenage, one of the smallest tinpot teams in the EFL and no one expecting us to win ! This is turning into one of the most miserable seasons ever ! I get what you mean. It's not what we've become used to. But please don't call any team &q...

Couhig does mention Richardson having been at RUFC - he said if he had been asked he would have advised Leam to not take the job. So at least Couhig doesn't shy away from acknowledging his problems there.

Re: Poll: Recruitment

Triallists have practically zero cost. But they're players who have otherwise fallen through the cracks and you used to rarely get any idea who they actually were. As noted elsewhere, Morrell had barely played for a few years and has now retired. I think we had Walcott here one summer and he chose ...
