Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Assuming that is true, and I doubt everything where this sort of info is concerned, then the demands are that of a player who didn't actually want to sign but would if the club "made it worth his while".

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

The latest X fun this morning is that Beale, who had agreed to come has now changed his mind having been offered more money by Leicester. If true, and money is one of the drivers (as it should be really) we can't compete with a club that has dropped out of the PL. Leicester don't have a manager at ...

Re: Sheffield Wednesday…. Club morals

Sheffield Wednesday currently have players that may jump ship due to contracts not being paid and will be looking for new clubs. If one of them was suitable and we needed someone in that position would it be morally wrong to pick the bones of another club that are going through the same thing we di...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Morecombe look likely to enter administration today. This may see them unable to take their place in the National League, as they have strict rules around accepting clubs in admnistration. If it happens, they may have to move down 2 divisions or possibly have to league to play in at all. Their owne...

Players and staff at Sheff Wed not paid again, 3rd time in 4 months and 7th time since March 2021. More charges likely to follow… Manager Danny Rohl still looking to leave and has not as yet returned for preseason Players can serve notice as of today - though seems to be some suggestion that young ...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Happy with Rushesha to be a squad option, main issue with him last season was he essentially got thrust into a starting position, out of position due to injuries. Yep, he can cover a couple of spots for us and will be on the cheap side wages wise. So that just leaves Craig, Ehibhatiomhan & Dors...

Re: Charlie Savage to Wrexham

We shouldn't be selling anyone at this point. If, once we have built the squad back up and a decent offer is received that works for all parties - and is at a time where we have time to reinvest any funds (if and where needed) then fine but I would not, personally be humoring any offers for any cont...

Re: Bez Lubala

RG30 The same guy who gave it the big one to the away end after scoring against us last season. Big no from me.

Why would that put you off a player? Did you have an issue with Smith winding up Oxford fans when scoring?

Re: Bez Lubala

He's not an out and out striker though is he - according to Transfermarkt and a couple of other sources, they have him down as a LW who occasionally plays out on the right - so a Campbell replacement (if true).

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Still whilst we are waiting and constantly checking for news it does give me the chance to wonder whether CScott or Rupert Lowe are the worst thing on Twitter. It’s a pretty close run thing I see its got to the stage where someone is so bored they have set up a "positive" CScott account a...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Mbengue feels like a big loss - a key part of the squad both on and off pitch. We tried to keep and he decided to take a different challenge. Wareham never felt like he was quite good enough, bet he scores against us next season. I think in L1 Wareham was good enough, with room to improve due to hi...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

Reading finished three points outside the League One play-off places last season, despite all their problems. Still, he urges caution to fans excited by the new investors that they have on board, even if they have “very deep pockets”. Couhig is unable to say who they are due to an agreement with th...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Right so the wareham mystery is solved. We apprently only offered him a contract so we could get compensation. We offered a really shit contract knowing he wouldn’t sign it. Which was better than releasing him on a free. He was deemed by hunt, as surplus to requirements. To get comp, we will have h...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

blythspartan I am probably wrong, but it almost feels like Rob has brokered a deal for Aliya to eventually takeover the club.

Is just what he did at Wycombe, brought someone with deeper pockets on board and eventually sold out to them.

Just seems to have brought them in almost immediately with us.
