Re: Games You Wish You Hadn't Missed

http://hobnob.royals.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=91927&start=0 Saturday 21st December 1985 Reading 4-3 Plymouth I used to work at Avco Trust on Castle Street (the copper and black building just above the IDR), and I'd messed up a 4000 line Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet on the IBM PC-XT I used. I...

What's the Best Adroid App for RFC Info?

Anyone tried any of the Android Apps for RFC info? Are they any good? Suggestions for the best one?

Excellent! That'll do me. Especially given the goal he scored.

Re: Gilkes's Number

Whew!

Looks like I didn't waste £13 on shirt lettering with No 10 then.

It's just I'm sure he always had 10 on when he shot past me on the South Bank (although at that speed I could never be sure  )

Gilkes's Number

Tell me I'm not going mad and that Gilksey played number 10 when he was on the wing.

Re: Back From The Game - Sheff Wed (H)

Gooding and Dellor were enthusing about the performance during the 1st half and seemed to agree that it was probably the best half of football seen at the Mad Stad all season. Vaguely interesting that a number of above comments are very much to the contrary. Totally wrong! Gooding and Dellor must'v...

Re: Our place in the league

How could they have been bigger than us? They were still small time, even when they were in the top flight. Assuming you mean Wolves, Er, no, I was talking about Oxford! Sod it. I'm too old for this. Missed BrendyWendy's post. Anyway, in my personal history of the world, Oxford doesn't even get a f...

Re: Our place in the league

You know at the start of the season they do that alphabetical thing that means we start in the bottom third, well... Our name is shorter and earlier in the alphabet than Wolves, so we should be higher in the league than them and thus Premiership before them. Planning, aspiration, commitment, achiev...

Re: Our place in the league

So what were the major differences? Is the club sitting on a pile of cash that most of us don't know about? Or is the club in debt up to it's footballs and staring administration in the face? Or somewhere in between ? WHich is kind of what the statement said isn't it ? Indeed, Mr Sun. If you strip ...

Re: Our place in the league

You don't find it odd then that the Annual Company Accounts lodged with Companies House, are somewhat different to the version of events Mr Mad recently published? Three accountants go for a job. They're each given a test whereby they have to review some transactions and state the profit that would...

Re: Super Super Rodgers

Can't help thinking SSC might have something to say about that. He had the opportunity to stay at the end of last season but clearly felt that he'd done his time and was ready to move on (even if only to the golf course). Curbs is too much of his own man. If he took the job it would be on his terms,...

Re: Back From The Game - Middlesbrough (H)

I see where you're coming from, Rob the Royal. I remember when Adrian Williams and Scott Taylor got their first run out in the first team as 17 year old subs. In a spell of poor team performances they were a breath of fresh air when they ran everywhere and chased everything. They put some of the mor...

Re: Back From The Game - Middlesbrough (H)

Well, having not been to a game for so long I was shocked at the lack of support. But then I haven't had to suffer in person so perhaps I haven't really got the right to judge. Thinking back to when I went to most home games, what used to annoy me more than anything was lack of effort on the pitch. ...

Re: Best place to park?

Thanks all. Parked at FW in the end, mostly cos I didn't recognise any of the A33 and couldn't even FIND HP  Anyway, turned out well. £5.50 for me and daughter return on the bus, and back to Brum for 19:00. The only bad thing was the game. And the other fans - all I heard all through the matc...

Re: Back From The Game - Middlesbrough (H)

My first game today for over 10 years. Drove 100 miles each way. I agree that the match was poor from a RFC point of view and it reminded me of the darker, final days of Mr Branfoot and the sucession of poor/cheap/underqualified replacements we had. There is, however, a common thread to the really p...

Re: Best place to park?

Is the Foster-Wheeler bus £3.50 return? That's not bad (although there are two of us. My daughter's 16 and isn't really that keen on football but has decided that she's my "football buddy" so I don't have to go to games on my own  Her first game was Walsall v. Gillingham at the Besco...
