Apparently Southampton FC would not allow any coverage - that is why there are no photos of the game on the Reading FC, Get Reading etc websites. The only pictures they have shown on their website are those of the goals they scored - nothing showing Readings goals!!

Don't know if it would have helped but I and a number of other season ticket holders I have spoken to would have been happy to have kept the season tickets at the same price as last year if it meant we could keep the players! Just a thought.

An excellent game and Reading were undoubtedly the best team - admittedly Newcastle did defend very well. I am just surprised that Hughton allows his team to come on to the pitch with such arrogance and insolence and a look of not really wanting to be there - if I was the manager I would be disguste...

Having just watched the Bolton v Spurs game there were several similar offences to that of Long's yesterday - but nothing but a yellow card was produced. Just where is the consistency??

Not a brilliant performance - yet again. Long was not protected at all in the first half - the referee and linesman appearing to ignore any pushing, arms, shirt pulling. Both Reading teams played well and worked well together - particularly going forward. Thanks to Didcot who always make the Reading fans welcome - always a great game to go to.

Yes I was there! A brilliant game and the match that I just can't forget. The Robin Friday goal was just spectacular and the reaction from the referee as equally amazing. I was only a teenager at the time and at the end of the game they played 'Oh What a Night' over the PA system - fantastic evening!
