Re: FA Youth Cup 2025/6

Brentford or Chelsea (H) in the next round: https://www.thefa.com/news/2025/dec/05/fa-youth-cup-fourth-round-proper-draw-20250512 Hopefully Brentford get through that tie. Would rather not be surrounded by a load of Chelsea supporters! Will be another good test for our young lads regardless of whic...

Re: FA Youth Cup 2025/6

Does anyone know who this is (to Brian Carey's right)? https://images.gc.readingfcservices.co.uk/fit-in/1440x1440/995a3ca0-d0f8-11f0-84f9-c95dd41f0a4b.png Peter Scott? Possibly, although he looks a bit younger than Scott. Would make a lot of sense though, especially being sat with Carey and Gilkes.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (h)

The gaffer and the team have had the luxury of a few extended breaks recently and there were signs against Blackpool that looks like the experience of Richardson is helping with the balance and morale of the team. I honestly think we will move slowly up the table and pushing for the play offs at th...

Re: Season Tickets 25/26

RG30 Black Friday has passed and with Christmas imminent, not a word on whether the club will be selling half ST's.

Would've thought that would be coming imminently, as usually the first game a half season ticket applies for is Boxing Day (albeit we're away this year).

Re: Fixtures 2025/26

Eyes on Accrington Stanley vs Mansfield this weekend in the FA Cup. If Mansfield win then our match with them on Saturday, 10th January will be postponed. Still no date set either for the Wigan (A) match that was postponed last month. Had a look and unfortunately we can't play Wigan on the 10th, if...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (h)

Don't really know what to expect from Peterborough. They've recently beaten Wimbledon 5-0 and Stockport 3-0, but then proceeded to lose to Stevenage and Doncaster.

Re: FA Youth Cup 2025/6

When is the draw? And when could we expect a video stream of the games on RoyalTV - or do they avoid that at all costs to try and get punters through the turnstiles? ...draw for R4 probably on or more likely after the last (4) ties scheduled for Wed 17th Dec 1 18:00 Wed 17 Dec Oxford United v Wigan...

tbf the official site had been much quicker off the mark this time ..... :? https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2025/december/03/royals-into-round-four-of-youth-cup-after-dramatic-penalty-shootout/ My take was we rather got away with that one ... our 'game management' as per the popular buzz-phrase , ...

Re: Berks & Bucks Senior Cup 2025/6

So Reading have confirmed that the B & B Senior Cup QF tie away at Maidenhead Utd will take place next Tuesday 9th December. It’s an absolute farce and collectively the Berks and Bucks FA, Maidenhead Utd and Reading must take the blame. I wrote to the Competition secretary at the B & B last...

Re: Rumour - Ronan Hale (striker)

Feels pretty damning of the recruitment and perhaps Hunt as well, that we've essentially wasted all our loan slots for half a season. Some signings don't work out. And it's hard to get first team ready loans. If I were Noel, I'd be a little pissed at his brother. And I would say only MOM and Burns ...

Re: Realistic January CF targets

When Hunt was sacked, I thought we had three major weaknesses in the squad: striker (possibly two being needed); a ball-winning central midfielder and left-back. I'd say we're now fine at left-back, especially after the signing of Randall Williams and the improvements of Jeriel Dorsett there; Garcia...

Re: Top winger individual performances

Seem to recall Glen Little causing Ashley Cole all sorts of problems at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

Shame he wasn't regularly fit for us by that stage of his career, especially the second season.

Re: Injury watch 2025/26

Our best run of form/results/entertaining football was that late spell under Selles and seemed to correspond with Elliott getting sustained run in the side. It isn’t a misconception, he really was very good during this period and so were we. However the injury hit him and for one reason or another ...

Re: Who should be starting LB/RB?

traff Any fear of seeing Clarke in a senior shirt again?

Is he not still injured?

Seeing as he’s twenty-two in the summer and out of contract then, I’d be very surprised if we saw him again unfortunately.

Interesting* to note Rinomhota came off the bench today and played higher up the pitch than both Savage and Wing.

Re: Who should be starting LB/RB?

I'd keep Abrefa and Dorsett at full-back at the moment. Dorsett is better than Jacob defensively and does provide some support going forward, but is more of a left centre-back; Abrefa more offensive and has improved a lot defensively with his exposure to regular first team football. Both are young e...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackpool (a)

Just got home and have to say Kyerewaa was absolutely brilliant today. He was consistently looking to drive the team forward and take on the defender. Felt like a proper winger and the Blackpool defence simply didn't know how to deal with him. Will do a longer write up soon, but he has to be praised...
