Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Most recent might be the Burnley cup game in 2007?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Club have confirmed on social media that the ‘enhanced fun zone’ has been cancelled due to the weather - unsure if the game itself is at risk. There has been a lot of rain today. It seems quite possible there will be a postponement, I just wish the club would give an update either way now. When was...

Re: Reading hit with winding-up petition by former chief executive

I'd love to know the context behind this before I call Howe a oxf*rd but... he's always seemed like a bit of a oxf*rd.

Re: Joe Jacobson - Liability or Asset ?

The usual role of the director of football is understand and work with the player budget set by those above, negotiate player contracts and negotiate transfer fees in. The player budget this season has been heavily influenced by the new EFL spending rules in place in L1, Couhig mentioned on more th...

Re: Joe Jacobson - Liability or Asset ?

Jacobson's had one transfer window as effectively a Director of Football (not just at Reading, but generally). We'll see in January as to what lessons may or not have been learned from the summer. I'd describe the summer window as having at least two strategies, perhaps down to the objectives of th...

Re: Leyton Orient (A) - Saturday 17th January

£30 is a bit of a piss take tbh but probably would have still gone but just a bit apathetic towards the club atm. Can just about drag myself to the home games.

Re: Richardson out

Don't forget the added bonus now of trying to get players in for what looks like a relegation battle. At least in the summer we'd just missed out on the playoffs and had new owners so looked a much better prospect than now. While I appreciate we might be in a relegation battle come January, this is...

Re: Richardson out

Yeah, don't believe the theories that Couhig et al intentionally set up Hunt to fail, if they really didn't want him, the most sensible decision would have been to bin him off in the Summer and let the new man build their own squad. Still, need some big questions of the recruitment in the Summer but...

Unlike the majority here I feel weirdly optimistic for this one, think we'll nick the win.

Re: Where will we be in 2030?

I feel we'll eventually make progress and find ourselves in the Championship at least. Think Couhig's reign will be fairly underwhelming and eventually we'll get a more wealthy owner like how his Wycombe ownership ended.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bradford City (a)

Bit surprised of no changes after Tuesday but perhaps it's being put off as a bad day, if it goes well he'll definitely look good but if it goes badly he'll look like an idiot.

Definitely a risk.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bradford City (a)

Are we gonna lose this? Probably, but it feels very much the reverse of how we saw the Peterborough game so maybe we'll get another Blackpool performance.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bradford City (a)

Feel Bradford's style of play will allow us greater freedom to play the way we want to than Peterborough but they're near the top for a reason so would certainly take a point if offered.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (h)

This sort of performance is exactly why we'll never mount a serious charge towards the play-offs, for every good performance like Blackpool, there's a Doncaster or a Peterborough. Unless we have a great January window, I think we'll see more of the same for the rest of the season and finish lower mi...

I feel good about tonight, think we'll win without any stress, 2-0 or greater.

So, looking forward to inevitable disappointment.

I wonder if they might be just preparing for the Championship now, could end up smashing Derby's record the way they're going!

Re: Record Watch 25/26

Snowflake Royal I kinda hope they beat 106 just so people stop holding onto it in desperation rather than just accepting Birmingham took it.

Does anyone take Birmingham's 111 seriously though? Maybe once the context of how they won the league is lost and only the record remains.
