Re: Poll: Should Noel Hunt be sacked?

A club that barely existed a few months ago and the fans are desperate to get rid of a guy who’s given his all for this club for many years. No wonder football’s in such a state. SMH. The club very much existed a few months ago. The idea of it ceasing to be is frankly absurd. If we were still at El...

Re: Relegation poll

It is a genuine risk for everyone. The question is whether or not it is likely. Ask me in March.

Re: Poll: Should Noel Hunt be sacked?

We created chances to miss. Much more like it than not creating chances, which is what the preceding games were like. It is at least something for the fans to get behind during a match. Put in the same level of performance on Tuesday and we should be fine. If not, then serious questions can be asked.

Re: Poll: Should Noel Hunt be sacked?

No but only because he should be put back with the U21s, not sacked just repurposed. This should have formed part of an interim package when he took over first team affairs last season. To do so now would be almost impossible for him. To go from being the Gaffer to answering to a different one woul...

Re: Ashqar Ahmed

He is an 18 year old right back. This means he will make mistakes and be caught out on occasion. Young players often have adrenaline fuelled performances where they will take risks based on their exuberance and a confidence in their own ability. He looks powerful at right back, and he could develop ...

Re: Hunt out.

In the Couhig Q&A he mentioned metrics, specifically to Noel keeping the manager's job when the take over completed You expect Rob would have other in-season metrics for Noel to meet I'd guess 2 League wins from 11 and in the Relegation places wouldn't meet expectations nor will it entice fans ...

Re: Hunt out.

I think we can all agree that Hunt was appointed, not because he was the best, but he wasy the best available to us in the circumstance that we were in. I’m a glass half full person, but having taken time to consider it, I now believe the glass is half full of piss. Time to empty it out and start a...

Re: Hunt out.

If there is going to be a change, I actually think Steve Bruce could be an option. Certainly don't expect Ainsworth despite the fact the media would obviously install him as favourite for the position if it was available. Think my favourite idea though would be Charlie's dad with maybe Ritchie movi...

Re: Hunt out.

It wasn’t just under Selles though - Wareham a good example who improved after Selles left. Savage as well Somethings just not right this year. Maybe it is Gibbs going as well Gibbs going certainly hasn’t helped matters. But, the difference between this year and last is stark. We had a team that wo...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stockport County (a)

I think Elliot thrives when he is played consistently and not in and out with cameo sub opportunities. At this point in the season, I don’t think anyone knows what our best team is. Over the last two seasons, it has largely picked itself.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stockport County (a)

I like to think that the current trend of improved performance will continue. If not for a whole ninety minutes then for more extended periods in the game. Stockport are overwhelming favourites and this suits us. 2:2.

Snowflake Royal My only prediction is that some of our traveling support should take their tenor lady with them.

That would be the fat lady ready to sing then. Just a little deeper than normal. :)

Re: Players at Reading who you had completely forgotten about

Peter Castle l believe still hold the record for Readings youngest ever player. We were 3-0 up away at Watford. He came on for the final 15 minutes. He never played professional football again. And yet his name is on the board of acadamy players who played for the first team. With the like of Gylfi...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wrexham (a)

Doing the work i couldn't be bothered to do. I was at the Vale game as well  Piece of piss to look him up on Soccerbase. He looks like his confidence is shot, and as you say, no standout attributes. He's leathered a few good shots, but none of them have really got that close to going in betwee...

Re: Players at Reading who you had completely forgotten about

Had completely forgotten about a particular striker who came to us for good money with a decent record, but struggled to find real form. Only remembered him when I saw his signature on a shirt. Carl Asaba.

East Grinstead Royal After Marriott scored, I was hoping Lane would get one so I could say it’s been their best performance since Itchycoo Park.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Leyton Orient (h)

I don't think it's wise to change how you play and a player's role just because Wellens has targeted Wing in the past. In fact, I would say moving Wing higher does precisely nothing to stop Wellens setting up to man mark him, it just puts him somewhere he has even less space. Hunt will certainly ne...

Re: Hunt out.

The other angle - that Selles made HUGE changes in his formations etc - that also doesn't hold up. I posted the interview where he literally states that he kept the same overall vision and tightened up in a few key areas. That also accompanied the squad 'changes' - Hutchison rendering himself perso...

Re: Hunt out.

Of course. But we're seven games in, not 15. We are 10 games in mid Oct with the next international break. That's how long I give Hunt with winnable home games coming up. Winnable? Reading haven’t beaten Orient anywhere yet since relegation! Last season Orient had lost 4 in a row and were without a...
