Re: Hunts gone

https://www.leaguemanagers.com/latest-news/noel-hunt-statement A statement from Noel “I am disappointed to have left the club so early into the League One season, especially with so much still to play for. “When I took over as manager of Reading almost a year ago, the club was facing an incredibly d...

Re: CONFIRMED: Leam Richardson

Once Richardson has assessed the squad, do we think that we will try for any free agents before the January window or wait and see who is available then? Apparently we did have Randell Williams training with us - wonder what will happen there? Also I wonder if any of our loan players will be returni...

Re: CONFIRMED: Leam Richardson

Imagine there will be an interview with the new manager posted at some point today. Don't expect it to be too original but will be nice to hear directly from Leam

Re: Hunts gone

Do sacked managers usually come out with a statement thanking the club, players etc, or is that just managers who have left of their own vocation?

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

I wonder how the January window will go?

What's Leam's network like and what "pull" does he have with players as he's not exactly a big name and has been out of the game for a while

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

The last 2 of those seasons of course being at a higher level with a) a Wigan team having cash issues and b) a Rotherham squad that was nowhere near good enough for the division it was in - still a poor record there of course. This can of course also be split as: League 1 - 47.5% - 37 wins in 80 Ch...

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

How has anyone been 'brainwashed' - we've heard nothing from Couhig specifc to Richardson, and won't until he's formally appointed. The responses on here are far more measured than those having a tantrum on twitter. I can't speak for anyone else, but seems a solid appointment to me. A solid track r...

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

Surely, until there is an official announcement, there is an outside chance that it isn't Leam One worry is that the owners pick the wrong person. Have they only considered three candidates as there are a lot of names currently available? I thought the rushed sacking could be due to another club app...

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

Anyone else want to admit they hadn't heard of this guy 24 hours ago? I certainly hadn't. A bit quick to conclude he is Paul Ince mk.2 I was certainly aware of him but wasn't aware of the extent of his managerial/coaching CV. I was aware of him too but mainly due to the way he spells his first name

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

But I’m solely going on that description of Richardson’s management from a few posts on Twitter so it might be totally wrong This is possibly how Couhig and Jacobson will go about choosing the new manager Assume Brian Carey will have a big say in who we pick? Who else with any long term football ex...

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

https://www.bettingodds.com/thesackrace/casualties Managers let go this season that haven't been mentioned so far include (Each manager has a write up): Micheal Flynn (doesn't look terrible) Steve Bruce (on a downward spiral) Darren Ferguson (seems fairly successful) Derek Adams (career looks to hav...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Doncaster Rovers (h)

. BTW Hunt spoke afterwards about signing an out of contract player-if we do then either the player will get crocked in his first game or will take 3 months to get up to speed having done no pre-season with a club. Randell Williams is who twitter think is training with us based on pictures a...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (h)

After the exertions against Cardiff the lads will be tired and likely carrying a few knocks so given the quick turnaround in matches and lack of rest we'll be fortunate to get a draw Northampton have had the same turnaround and had further to travel I nearly put that on my earlier post but as I was...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Doncaster Rovers (h)

Hunt is Mr Draws We drew too many at the end of last season which meant we didn't reach the Play-Offs We've drawn too many this season too. Sometimes going ahead then conceding, sometimes coming from behind to salvage a draw. The situation we're in we need to somehow be converting these draws into w...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Doncaster Rovers (h)

From Couhig's October Q&A - https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2025/october/02/rob-couhig-meets-supporters-in-q-a-session/ Jack Marriott was not available until the day we signed him Now, what "available" means is possibly open for interpretation but we must have been notified immediatel...
