Re: Striker STILL urgently required - can we wait until January?

Talking of our strikers, I'm going to call it and say we've already seen the peak of Kelvin's career. He's talented, but too casual, inconsistent and he's not physical enough given his frame. The contract saga this summer suggested he was holding out for a better offer and didn't get one. Well he ne...

Re: Club culture - are problems deeper than management?

The Man United analogy is interesting.... From an owner's perspective, Man United is a hugely successful commercial entity... Given the choice, would the new ownership here prefer: a) a commercially successful club with a mid team or b) a mid commercial performance and a good team... (& I know ...

Club culture - are problems deeper than management?

Obviously Hunt is not winning many plaudits right now, and I don't want to have another thread debating it. What I'm interested in is whether there could be deeper rooted issues at the club we're struggling to put our finger on. It's well known that under SJM, everyone knew their job, and we had hig...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Mansfield Town (h)

Yeah I don’t see anything that suggests we’re any better than about 12th place which is pretty disappointing after the enthusiasm post Dai I don’t mind the league position in itself but I’d love for us to have the feeling that we are building something for the future - maybe we are but I’d like to ...

Re: Hunt out.

We've seen what happens when you have a revolving door of managers. You just keep stacking up new players who are equally mediocre and not the current man's players. Yeah, sure maybe you get a small bump from a desire to impress the new guy, fresh approach etc. But it never really lasts does it. Bu...

Re: Hunt out.

It does worry me that players who have proven in the past to be as good as Savage, Wing, Lane, Doyle have been so poor this year in their all round game. Savage should be bossing this league and looks an absolute shadow Under Selles, lots of players like Azeez and Mola improved a lot. We're not see...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Mansfield Town (h)

That Lane miss is quite something. There is often a bobble, bounce or defender obscuring vision in mitigation for these sorts of misses, or maybe the cross is very high pace and hard to control. But there was nothing of this nature. Absolutely inexcusable miss.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Mansfield Town (h)

No dressing it up. Really disappointing result. And still yet to deliver a truly convincing performance, even if we have decent spells most games.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Mansfield Town (h)

Couhig seemed relaxed on Thursday about waiting for promotion, but based on today he's greatly under estimating the relegation risk. It's fcuking Mansfield.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stockport County (a)

I think our goal on Saturday is one of my favourites in a while. Just a really quick, well worked move to manufacture a clear chance. The sort of goal you see on MOTD regularly and which a PL fan wouldn't bat an eyelid at, but which is rare at this level.

Much more satisfying than a Wing screamer.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stockport County (a)

Elliott’s a weird one - was being hailed as our best player 5 games ago. Had an awful game against PV (I think it was) then another dodgy game and then right out of favour Suspect he won’t be here next year either He may go on to tear it up with another L1 side, but actually I suspect he'll be one ...

Don't give a shit. Only potential interest is if returning injured players get minutes.

Re: Injury watch 2025/26

Sounds like Yiadom and O'Connor are back in full contact training but match fitness obviously a massive problem. 2 - 3 weeks maybe? Some pizza cup and U21 minutes?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stockport County (a)

One comment I still find tiresome is "we could have been 3-0 by" or "play like that every week and we'll lose consistently".

This is our third season in L1; get used to the fact we don't have clinical opponents and we have lots of room for error in our performances.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stockport County (a)

Lovely move for our equaliser, but there are not many wingers in L1 who turn that Savage pass into such a big chance for Marriot. The moment Ritchie is fit enough, he starts. Also, that miss at 1-0 was incredible. Game should have ended then. Stockport's goal marginal offside call though - impossibl...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stockport County (a)

FT 1-1; definitely a good result. Follow it up with a win in a winnable game against Mansfield and you'd say we've put our bad start firmly behind us.

Lovely goal. Can't complain about low xG or luck with that one.
