zac naloen I thought Shorey and Bentley where the two stand out wing players, he certainly can't have hurt his chances in anyway and if that really is the first time mclaren has seen him play my guess would be they improved slightly.

From BBC Sport.
"Reading's Nicky Shorey and David Bentley of Blackburn are also included in the 26-man squad. "

not a bad squad apart from Neville, Brown, Jenas, Dyer, Crouch, Smith and Defoe... and you can forgive a few of them as well I suppose.

Heard it on the radio but seeing it written down like this is amazing.

I guess we'll have to change his song now. "England's Number 3" perhaps?

The more pressing question is what name goes into "..... for England" now? It works like a charm. How about Halford? England are woefully weak at RB.

For those that are interested

apparently, England have a "C" team (the non-league step-down from our B team)

England won the FOUR NATIONS TOURNAMENT.....including a certain Paul Brayson

Neil Smith is now player/manager of Welling

Ricky Newman has got another 1 year deal with Aldershot

Stuart Beavon (ex- Didcot and currently Weymouth.......and slagged off by many on hna) looks like getting snapped up by Exeter....a good step forward

and once upon a time (back in 2002) I predicted Shorey would play for England

....just didn't think that he would be a Reading player at the time
