ZacNaloen I thought that was because he took a hit to his head from the ball 5 minutes before the end?

Wasn't it down to when he got an elbow in the eye - when we went over with a Boro defender in a tussle for the ball in the SW corner of the Boro area?

I mean the concussion, not the cut.

If he really can't remember the game because of when he went over after that tussle what were our medical staff doing?

Physio to Brian McD : He's concussed, he doesn't know who he is.
Brian McD : Then tell him he's Wayne Rooney and send him back out there.

hes in hospital for the cut, which was from the tussle
no idea where the concussion memory loss comes from- could be the ball at the end.
just going by what our manager said, in an attempt to make LOLable the ridiculous diving claim

Ian Royal Well that was one of the most turgid piles of shit I've sat through. We really were poor. Peterborough were even worse. TBH both teams deserved to lose.

 Ian Royal talking shit shocker. Peterborough put in the best performance any side did this season against us in the first-half. Moved the ball around with ease, looked a threat on the break and scored an excellent opener. Fortunately we got back into the match through a peach of a Harte delivery which was nicely finished by Church. Second-half we were far more disciplined and won the important battles in the middle. The substitutions made the difference with 2 outstanding finishes. Not sure what Feds was doing on the second goal though.

Overall a decent win against a side that surprised me. 6 goals in 2 matches is very encouraging and we are now looking a better attacking threat with Harte in the side.

Good to win this game but we didn´t play well. Think we have to stop playing 4-4-2 because it is to difficult for the two central midfielders, especially when Kebe is on the wing and does no defending.

How did Leigertwood not get sent off a couple of mins from the end?

On a Yellow, he smashed the ball to the Upper West when Peterboro were awarded a free kick. Very lucky boy.

P'boro played some nice stuff, and looked better quality than us in terms of moving the ball, but the fact is they still rarely really troubled our goal significantly. It took a set piece and a defensive shambles for them to actually score. They didn't score from an absolute gift from Harte. They deserved to lose because despite playing some nice stuff and us being utter arse, we were always in the game no matter how we played and could still score against them three times despite being awful.

He'd cleared the ball as the Ref blew his whistle, would have very harsh.

3rd game of the season for me.

Respect to Brian for taking action after an hour of thoroughly depressing football....................we all know what would have happened back in Coppell's day.

From that point on I thought we had, more or less, our strongest available side on the pitch. There's not much you can do about "another silly mistake" from "the best 'keeper in the division" when you've loaned your own number No1 to a promotion rival :|

I don't care how many pin point crosses Harte puts in (or how many times Tim Dellor takes it up the arse for him :| ) these days he's a sh*t left back but Mills was injured.

However, as a fan, I think I'm entitled to ask why any manager in his right mind would bench far and away his best striker and top scorer in favour of Simon Church when your team creates precious few scoring opportunites, making a high conversion rate essential.

Perhaps I'm being slightly stupid in still believing that, one day, Churchy will make a decent footballer but so far, I've seen about 6 decent games from him and what feels like upwards of 50 where's he's been largley irrelevant save from making sure the lino's flag gets raised at regular intervals.

If Alf doesn't start on Saturday, it will be time to send for the men in white coats.

Sebastian wrt ALF's goal, I meant Harte controlling it with his chest on the touchline then putting in a bloody decent cross to cause mayhem. Someone else may have got a touch but it all came from Harte IMO.

I disagree with that. Yes it was a good deep cross from Harte but the control and lay off for Alf was what made the goal in my opinion.

Apart from the usual anti-Coppell drivel, excellent post.

Didn't go to a home game for the first time in a long time last night, anticipated a load of rubbish on a cold night in front of not very many. Other than the goals it sounds like thats exactly what it was, a wins a win...but it says it all when a team like Peterborough come to the madejski with great passing and movement and we are simply looking to lump it and keep the ball in the air.

Once again Federici is at fault. What was he doing for the 2nd goal?
Making an error of judgement while trying to prevent a goal being scored.

More evidence as to why he should dropped.

No it isn't, unless you have a superhuman or extra-terrestrial alien who is faultless in mind?

People always talk about experience with Ian Harte, but where was that experience with that awful back pass?

Earth calling.

We are inhabited by human beings who aren't perfect all the time..

(Even the very best make errors sometimes. Harte is a human).

2nd mistake in a row.

How many more mistakes until fans realise that Federici is 2nd choice? He has made a mistake on the biggest stage (play-off final) and still not been found out..

Ian Royal Hunt - OK: cynical, diving little cheat he is

currently in hospital, having his eye cut- boxer style, and cant remember much of the game as a result of the assault on him.

Looked to me to go down very easily on several occasions without much contact. Far from the first time he's seemed to do it either. Fair enough if he's got a whack or two. Love his record when playing for him, dislike his tendency towards gamesmanship on the pitch.

But if he got concussed in the first half when he went down in the box he had no place being on the pitch afterwards. And that looked six and half a dozen to me from the East.
