We sold Gylfi because he was stealing Jimmy's limelight, nothing to do with money

as an aside- would anyone have exchanged the last few years in the championship for 4 years of bouncing around at the bottom of the prem?
im not sure i would you know.
this would never have happened, and half of these players would never have got a game for us.
its been an incredible 4 years.
playoffs, coppell going, brendan and then brian coming in to almost get to the playoffs from out of the bottom 3, getting to a play off final, and now this.
just unbelievable, incredible, legendary stuff.

We'd still have Gylfi *sniff*

We still might get Gylfi, he gets what he wants, he gets what he wants Brian McDermott he gets what he wants

Tokyo Sex Whale Absolutely no way would I swap bouncing around in 15th place in the prem for 2 promotions, a relegation, fa cup runs, playoff final, rebuilding a team etc.

I would hate to support someone like Fulham. Nothing against them but what do they hope for every season? What is there to celebrate/commiserate over?

Little harsh - they were in the Europa League final 2 years ago

A better one would be Aston Villa. They are the epitomy of nothing. Every year battling for 13th place, shouldn't really go down, no hope in any cup just there every year.

Fulham at least play half decent football and still have that small club us against the world attitude even thought they've been in the Prem for yonks now.

this is final vindication and victory for the RTG brigade.

now lets have no more of that negative nonsense ever again

Well not really, I said I couldn't see how we could progress under the current regime and, virtually from the day that a change of regime was announced, the club haven't looked back and duly secured promotion.

Sir John is a hero of mine. Bumbling upper class fool who adores the club, legend.

It was nice to see him basically pass over the mantle to Anton on the balcony last night too, I think our new owner will become a firm fans' favourite within a year

And how were we doing before the investment in the team in January?

I think we best call it a score-draw.

On a really good run and looking pretty good to make the play offs.

lost at home to stevenage in then to Hull in the league

This is just the Dunkirk in the STG's War on unreasonable optimism. Come back to me in 5 years time when we lose the local derby at Basingstoke in the Conference South after the dodgy new owners cash dries up.

Pfffffttttt!! We'd never lose to Basingstoke, well not at home anyway. Imagine - a crowd of 1900, each of which has a choice of 20 seats!!

Whatever happens - it certainly won't be dull.
