Reading4eva Who are County playing? If it was Swindon that could of been interesting!

Notts County v Brentford on the Saturday afternoon. Would have been a similar problem (re trains) for their fans had they been moved to the Friday night.

But there are less of them compared with our game. Forest is a game that I've enjoyed going to over the years, but with the last train at 21:15 back to Manchester and the drive just not worth it on a Friday night, I shall not be going!

I know 2 ladies who work at Hooters and I regret to inform you that they are painfully dull & tedious with false smiles and false tits, I cannot in good faith recommend their company, they are totally vapid sluts. Also the wings kinda suck and the tables are odiously sticky. Do not recommend.

Ah yes, remember it well  . Southampton fans: "three songs, you've only got 3 songs" Reading fans "three shots, we only need three shots". And then the trouble started

'Greed. Finish work early, hit the pub, go to the game, hit the pub, and you've still got your weekend left. I can only remember a few of those Friday nights, QPR the year they won the league, Forest when Andy Hughes headed home late on, Bristol City around 2002-03 when they did us 3-1. Any I've forgotten?

Brighton in 2003 - lost to THAT goal by Paul Brooker from the quick free kick.

Either game would normally be switched for home/away with the return fixture but in this case that would result in County playing 3 away games in a row in November, or Forest playing 3 home games in a row in December, which is against the rules.

Notts County would probably have been moved first, but League One are also playing on the previous Tuesday - so they cannot play on the Friday. Therefore had to move ours.

I assume that "not at home same weekend" rule discounts a Sunday fixture, or that both clubs chose Friday. Either way, rubbish for away fans but we can't blame sky this time!

So you can play Saturday/Tuesday but not Tuesday/Friday? Don't think that's right somehow....

You might be up for an MMF but you can't just make a decision for Royal Ginger like that

Yeah I don't think there's a problem with that, though I suppose it could have made a small contribution; Reading played Tuesday then Friday in April 2012 (Brighton and Southampton) and Feb 2006 (Sheffield United and Luton) - I'm sure there have been other instances too.

It wouldn't surprise me if it's simply due to Notts County being lower down the league pyramid and so facing a tougher struggle to attract fans to the game, etc. Whereas a Champinship game between two of the current top six should command a reasonable crowd whatever day it's played on.

(Either that or the club playing on the Saturday simply switches each time this happens?)
