Well unbeaten in 3.

Clarke presumably decided to sack off getting the win to take us to safety and is just going to rack the points up in bore draws.

We played some decent stuff at times today but carried so little threat. Pog worked hard but was never in a position where he could score. Don't know why Gareth was played on the left with Mackie on the right - and only the latter actually trying to win the game.
Blackburn clearly happy to come away with a point - they carried even less of a threat than us. Don't think Feds has had a quieter afternoon all season.

Err, we actually played well, if today is any indicator of the strength of the team then we're not missing too much, a goal scorer for sure and probably a bit more creativity.

Went with a headache and came back with a migraine. almost didn't go today due to having a cold and not in the mood.

A point is a point and is valuable. Just wish it was more entertaining. Bournemouth will be a tough game.

Impressed with Jem considering it's his first start for a while. Mackie good too and Pog was decent at times. They stood out for me. Also really like Ake, think he's solid and reliable.

McCleary put a lot of balls in the box and some good runs up the pitch.

I think we need to seriously look at our set pieces and corners. We waste so many chances. We had about 10 or 15 today and did very little with them.

Same for free kicks. I just don't think we ever capitalise properly on the opportunity.

It's fine margins, I agree that on that performance one or two players are the difference between being where we are and being 10 places higher up. No one had a bad game today, Chalobah played well but I'm still not really sold on Ake. Solid and steady but not ever doing anything of real significance.
Currently watching Burnley v Arsenal and I can see us winning next week quite easily.
I also think well have a Green government in May and England will win back the Ashes....

Pepe the Horseman Is this the first time we haven't had a match thread pre-kick off?

No. Scunthorpe away in the 2008-09 season didn't start until 12 minutes after kick off.

Blame for not winning lies solely with Pogrebnyak. Our only striker yet he spent more time outside of the box than in it. When he does get the ball his first instinct was to turn and run into as many defenders as possible. On the rare occasion he could be bothered to lumber into the box he just stood there waiting for the ball to be played onto his forehead. Absolutely useless.

This is why he's got bugger all chance of scoring more than 15 in a season, he just doesn't get himself in enough good positions that he can score from. He's a very talented player, but his actual impact for his position is just so mediocre.

Clark commented on this post match. He said Pog tries to get involved in build up play and he wants him to get into the box sooner and get more goals.
Pog worked hard as he has done since Clark arrived. He showed a decent turn of speed but was usually surrounded by 3 or 4 defenders, meaning he either lost the ball or had to play it back out and the move broke down.
Whether he can resist the temptation to join in in midfield and just be a presence in the box I'm not sure, but we definitely need someone who is just there to stick the ball away regularly

Totally agree.
Appiah did more in the ten minutes he was on than pog did in the other 80.

The sooner we are rid of this so called striker the better. Totally inept.

Well thankfully they've both got less than 6 to play and there's still two crap teams in between us and them (one of which is Fulham).
