Could do worse than trying to persuade Carlisle and Linney into a January move.

They will expect a fee to be paid. Uncle Bob has stated ad nauseam that he simply doesn’t believe in paying fees for players. The concept is alien to him. Didn’t do it at Wycombe, and that policy brought massive growth and achievement.

I mean, this just isn’t true.

We paid a fee for Lane. We may have paid a fee for Marriott.

Couhig said to expect most signings to be frees and loans, not we wouldn't pay any fees. It's abject nonsense to say Wycombe never spent a fee signing anyone in his time there.

Im not sure I would be quite so certain after looking I think I can see 2 or 3 non disclosed potential fees….??

Yes, most might be loans, frees etc, no issues there (so long as your scouting and management side are quick off the mark every window) but surely you wouldn’t walk away if there’s a sound deal that could be done for a player that suits the manager’s requirements down to the ground when the whole point is trying to progress the club?

If you're a good owner, you absolutely walk away from deals you think are poor value even if you think the player is good.

Otherwise you just get held to ransom on any deal.

Of course but not if you can negotiate a sound affordable deal.

Mid Sussex Royal I hope he does...Wing told a local journo on Thurs that things had got too comfortable.
I heard it was Wing who went to the board and said things need to change, this was after the bust up in the tunnel between Lane and Hunt.

If it was, it was unintentional...

I meant Derrick, I just can't spell it seems...

I've seen reference to a bust up between Hunt and Lane a few times.

We aren't saying it's a bad thing for a manager to robustly feed back to a player how unacceptable a performance it is to miss what pretty much amounts to 3 open goals in 2 games, which had a pretty huge impact on both results? Shirley?

1 of those was actually a pretty good save i thought, obvs the other 2 were v poor

It’s difficult to know really - I’m not sure it helps greatly bollocking someone for that if it is what is was about

Not following instructions, lack of effort, lack of discipline- that’d be things that would deserve a hairdrier. Maybe it was for something like that though, who knows
