Avon RoyalOnce were Biscuitmen This is exactly the same sort of inane, economically unaware, dribble spouted at SJM for so many years from idiots who have played too much Football Manager with Sky Sports News on in the background.
“Where have the TV millions gone?”
“I’ve been conned into buying a season ticket.”
“This is the worst Reading side of all time.”
“No ambition.”
.
Just out of interest, what were the fans of teams like West Brom, Swansea, Norwich, Sunderland, Southampton, West Ham saying as they established themselves in the premier league while we arrogantly pissed about trying to do everything on the cheap as if the laws of football economics didn't apply to us?

Scutterbucketz So you're basically you're saying "Anton out!"?

Fair post. Anton has put himself in the same situation as the last two windows and now doesn't have BM to hide behind.
I actually forgot that Anton blamed BM for the lack of purchases.
I fukkin haven't

Once were Biscuitmen Yes, how dare the owner not give us more of his money to subsidise an even greater loss for the business...

No Fixed Abode Competitive transfer market with plenty of bigger fish than Reading. And you're all shocked you struggle to get some of your 'targets'.

I'm not. But don't start bringing the fish into it. With their shiny scales, streamlined bodies and ability to extract oxygen from water.bastards

I took the statements as indications of intent rather than a guaranteeandrew1957 I think that the only surprising thing is how little backlash there has been so far. I think most of is are still waiting for the press conference which will announce that we did after all sign 3 players ahead of the deadline - and I really hope that this still comes.
If not I think the fans have very right to be furious.
We have been told we are buying 7 new players. We have released/sold/loaned out for the season 10 of our first team squad savings millions in salaries. We have received between 4-5M for Kebe and Mariappa and spent just 700K on Williams.
Adkins has often made comments about strengthening different positions and not using the loan market etc, so it is completely understandable that fans feel misled. There is still time and actually I would prefer now that we did not squander money on the likes of Sissoko - a player that would probably turn out to be another Pog. I think it is better to use our Academy products to fill the gaps and accept mid table obscurity this season now - unless Adkins proves to be an equally brilliant miracle worker to Brian.
But the facts are that the likes of Wigan and QPR have spent a great deal of money and we have not. Our squad is appreciably weaker than it was last summer, whereas they are arguably stronger.
I think the club does owe us all an explanation.
