RobRoyal Don't worry about Kitson getting "only" three goals, for Christ's sake. Worry about no-one else getting more than one.

Apart from Hunt.

Briefly.

Wasn't his second goal of the season awarded to Rosenior? Should I change what I wrote on the fixtures/results sheet on my partition wall?

If it will help you sleep at night.

I just don't want to make the mistake of correcting somebody who rants later in the season "That Hunt is crap, he's only scored one goal"

EDIT: Funny enough, Hob Nob still has Hunt down as the first scorer against Portsmouth!

He is rubbish at scoring goals though isn't he Spacey, in that it usually requires a player to kick the ball straight.

Did anyone else see the word 'partition' and assume it meant Spacey sleeps in a dormitory ?

I'm always shocked to not see the word "cell".

Scarface I can't blame the physio here. From what I've seen Kitson (and other players) seem to look knackered after about 70mins, so I suggest he starts to put a little more effort in on the training ground.

These comments just back up more that the players have now obtained the big time charlie attitude. I bet last year Kitson was giving 100% in training when he was fit.

Kitson always had a relaxed attitude to training, even last year. Coppell commented on that.

But he's the one banging in goals at the moment

If it ain't broke...

Perhaps if he was fitter he might have 5 goals.

Harper eats a fried breakfast, Kitson hates wasting energy on training - the point is each player knows his own body.

I hate waming up; when players pull muscles it's very rarely at the begining of a match which proves warming up is overrated! The manager of my team gets really annoyed with me saying i'm wrong, but hey, as I said, we all know our own bodies...

Looking at his post count, it's hard to believe he actually has managed to hold down a job that would require a partition

There was just a study that suggests warming up has little impact on whether you get a muscle injury or not.

But to be fair to him he obviously has, which probably puts him one up on the rest of us...

gazzer, loyal royal Jon Goodman was self employed and left to set up his own company. i Know the problems the club had in finding a new sports scientist. The guy trying to find one was on the phone 7 hours a day for a good 2 weeks

So not only do we have problems attracting players to the club but sports scientists aren't queuing up outside the door either!

I wonder how much notice Jon Goodman had to give (even if self-employed his contract with the club could specify notice) and whether we held him to it.

Did we go through the important pre-season build up and the early part of the season without a sports scientist at all? I would hope not because I'm pretty sure there are some out there more than capable and ready to hire their services out on an interim basis.

Not only have the players not looked quite as fit this season but mentally they haven't seemed as up for it and, according to Sir Steve, the feel around/about the squad has altered too. A good sports scientist can have a significant influence on all of these factors so maybe we have been missing Jon Goodman and/or the new guy hasn't yet had enough time to work his own magic.

As for Kitson's words - some of them appear slightly ill-chosen or unnecessarily critical of the new sports scientist. I wouldn't be surprised if this time someone has a quiet word in his ear about the need to think a bit more how these things come across to the general public once the media have got hold of them.

I'd be amazed if anyone had a word !!

Bet Kitson will make sure the new guy gets a copy plastered on his wall and they have a laugh about it.

It's football, not a political party !!

God you can excuse anything!! You damn well ought to work for a political party.

If he worked for my organisation I certainly would be having a word with him because I don't think some of his words are helpful for the club or the new guy. It might be different if the team had been blowing everyone away with their performances this season but they're not.

So all this sports science that is followed by virtually all successful sports teams/individuals is a load of cobblers?!

Each player might think they know their own body but it doesn't mean they are right! I take it you don't visit/listen to doctors either?!

As for not pulling muscles at the start of matches meaning that warmups are overrated, has it ever crossed your mind that it might just mean that you don't perform the type of action that might pull a muscle until later in a game? I would suggest that if you tried to sprint 50 metres full pelt on a cold day without warming up, you might well pull a muscle. Of course the other point is that you wouldn't actually be able to perform at 100% straight off without warming up, just as a car's engine isn't at its optimum performance level the moment you start it from cold.

Hopefully Kunle Odetoyinbo has more of a sense of humour than RoyalBlue!

It's not the first time Kits has done something like this to entertain himself is it...

Get you and your 'organisation' !!

I bet your 'organisation' is an absolute joy to work in....

What is there to 'excuse' ? Kitson is a breath of fresh air, you may prefer the identikit interviews of the likes of Owen and Beckham but if we had a few more like Kitson who actually have some opinions but also know how to string a journo along then football would still be interesting....

Nope, giving light hearted stories to the EP seems to be his "thing" during the international break.
