Personally I would be looking to put Lita into the team as Doyle has hardly been setting the world alight this season - although, to be fair, the problems for our stikers have been down to the lack of creativity coming through from midfield.

As Coppell has already mentioned with regard to our attempts at signing players currently at Premiership clubs, they aren't willing to help us so why would we want to help them? If anyone comes in for him and we were willing to sell, it would have to be to a club that would have no effect on us whatsoever. That discounts half of the league and leaves teams that in reality Lita is not good enough for.

If he goes in Jan I'd say it will be to Sunderland.

Can't see us selling him in Jan though, we'd have to buy a replacement!!

papereyes
cornwalls I believe he has the talent no one moned when he was scoring last season, he has not had a decent run out this season yet, i feel he need a chance as there are only 2 points between us and relegation....

I think he's had his chances and spaffed them away.

Long's had about as many minutes on the pitch, scored twice and earned more chances to impress. Lita has found it hard to keep his balance.

People should stop apologising for his lack of form, imo.

And Doyle's form at present?

Doyle has, however, scored 5 goals.

Not quite sure how, but he has.

Doyle also offers us ability in two positions.

Lita deserves a fews starts IMHO.

Kitson is the top scorer and Doyle has been used on the right wing in a few games.

Lita should get a start on Tuesday against Spurs and he should get a chance on Saturday against Man U and Chelsea.

He will know that if he plays well then he may keep his place or if Coppell decides to cash in then he will get a move - either way Reading can really only benefit, as one game is the Cup and the other 2 we would not expect to realistically win.

If he then doesn't perform well he can't complain and if he is not prepared to work then he can leave at the end of January and go to Sheffield United or QPR !!!!!!

Drop Doyle Saturday and tell both Long and Lita that a place is up for grabs if you perform against Spurs. There's some motivation.

No need to start another Lita thread, so I'll put it here.

How much should we expect for Lita? It wasn't long ago figures in excess of £5m were being discussed on HNA? in one of the many 'how much is our squad worth?' threads...(feel free to find one if you can be bothered).

By not playing him at all (and by the way HOW DO people expect him to perform with his appearance minutes this season?) we are literally losing money every game shirley?

I think we'd be lucky to be offered £2.5m right now.

Or am I way off? Too high? Too low?

For the record I think we are going to be losing a quality striker and it may well be something we look back on and say 'we were robbed' if we are not careful.

2.5 is too low. If we really want to sell him, give him a good run of games to showcase him then move him in the summer.

Too low Skin. I reckon we would get at least £4 million possibly £5 million at a squeeze.
Because he has hardly paid he hasn't been seen to be missing loads of sitters. His stock is still reasonably high elsewhere and as he is still young will get the benefit of the doubt from a lot of football folk.
For all his faults I would keep him. He is by no means perfect but I do genuinely believe he is an authentic striker and knows where the back of the net is.

I actually think that he is a decent player and a BIG mistake to sell him to any of our fellow strugglers.

If people want him to go they have short memories. think back to his goals angainst Man city last year and tell me that we've got a single player in our squad who could have scored them.

If he gets his attitude right, off field and on it, and stops falling over at the slightest touch then he'll be a great player. He needs a run in the team and I hope he gets it.

Kitson with ease plus Doyle when he's on form.

It beggars belief that Lita's fan club STILL think one good afternoon last season entitles him to start ahead of both Doyle and Long when he's yet to score in the league in the current campaign......................are you all this desperate to have Leroy's babies

Being 4th choice striker can really suck at times but it's an insult to Shane Long for some to suggest he should remain at the back of the queue because Lita scored a few goals last season.

And, if Leroy hadn't burnt his boats already, expressing a wish not to be cup-tied rather than take the opportinuty to impress (which he didn't) against Tottenham must surely have been the final nail in the coffin.

If Chelsea are thought to be willing to accept £2m for Sidwell, this makes some of the prices placed on Lita's head nothing short of laughable.

Get what we can, making his off field behavior someone elses problem, and give Simon Cox his chance for the rest of the season......................bye bye, Leroy.
