Snowball
paultheroyal So in summary Blackman is improving? Correct?

In summary, as usual, too many write off a player too early

How long a period is long enough to judge a player? 5 years? 10 years? 20?

Maybe we should all add signatures to every post saying "this judgement was justified at the time of writing; the author accepts that future events may affect his judgement and reserves the right to change his opinion.

Sutekh
Hoping to see the same change in HRK once he stops getting injured.

Hal is only in his 7th season at the club. Ridiculous to write him off so early.

Anyone got any thoughts on Paul Brayson, or are we still seeing how that one plays out?

I've learnt my lesson. I'm confident he'll come good.

I love these threads, they are living proof that some of you NEVER learn

How many seasons did Long spend here with fans slagging him off as "not good enough"

In fact, it took some of our dim witted fan base just a matter of weeks to go from slagging him off to bricking it for fear that we wouldn't hang onto him and, we didn't

18 year old Long cost 18k? was sold for £4m at 24? and has since changed hands for more than twice that.

Blackman, managed for too long by that complete tool Adkins and mostly limited to Cameos down the wing, is still only 25.

Now in the right hands, surprise, surprise!!! this young player is starting to showing just how good he may eventually become.

Got to agree with you WR, but of course, the HNA Scornmeisters here knew different.........they are now cheerfully gagging on their own short-sighted "expertise" bollock contents.

Got to feel for some of us that have "seen it all before"........said nothing.....and are now smugly thanking Brian McD

Never voted as was a waste of time but I have to say the creator of this thread is looking more and more stupid each week.
Even though the season was just starting one couldn't just be satisfied with facilitating this voting system. Instead of waiting one had to get ahead of themselves and talk some spiel also. oxf*rd idiot

Stand by what I said. For two and a half years he's been mediocre. Lazy and arrogant with nothing to back it up. And plenty of people agreed with me. Now he's finally backing it up. Fair play. Good for him and good for the club. I'm glad that he's proving me wrong.

At least I had an opinion. Unlike half the people who are now patting themselves on the back for just not saying anything.

Why is "having an opinion" positive?

In "my opinion" I might think 9/11 was done by aliens, the Pope is a cucumber, and Ian Royal knows loads about football

I always thought Blackman had lots of skill, but like the freestylers we used to see at half time, how that skill applied to an actual game of football was far from clear.
Really glad he's found a way to turn himself from a show pony into an effective footballer. He must feel so much better for it and we're certainly benefitting.
Ironic that preseason he was quoted as saying he had nothing to prove. Nick, you were wrong about that in the best possible way.
