Royal GingerAgent Balti Not even the ol' cock and balls treatment could better that pic.
I beg to differ...
I defer to your amendment, sir...well played.

Mr Angry Surely possession per se isn't the key variable; its where you have that possession that counts.
With Swansea (and Southampton) a lot of teams have sussed that you can allow them all the possession they want in the 2/3rds of the pitch from their goal-line, but deny them the ability to do much beyond that. As a result, large possession stats but minimal impact on the goal chances created (and even then, simply using the number of shots as a way of judging efficiency is crude and simplistic - if every shot was from 25 yrds+ out, does that mean the team were good, or defended out of the game?)
As always when people try to read a game and draw conclusions based on stats, it is a fail because there are simply too many individual variables and too many outside influences to take into consideration.

Pepe the Horseman Think I might've been a bit harsh on Blackman.

No he's not. He might be manager of the club but he's not one of us.

marlowuk I could refute each of your points one by one but that would bore fellow nobbers to death. I do, though, have an Honours degree in Pure Maths and Statistics and have, for many years, marked 'A' level Statistics papers. I do know what I am talking about.

Tbh, if Nige was a Reading fan rather than the manager then he's exactly the kind of bloke I'd expect to see coming on here and getting into arguments about nowt like the rest of us.

MmmMonsterMunch Ian - I think I'm going to have to make you put £10 into the 'concede' box each time you spell it wrong. It's the only way you're going to learn.
