Alexander Litvinenko The irony is that we could all forgive a bad/indifferent/disinterested (*delete as appropriate) attitude if he was actually delivering results on the pitch.
But the combination of average performances and that attitude wins him no friends.

Janomelonhead once they scored he couldnt be arsed.
That kinda goes for the whole team though.

no. their confidence went, and nerves crept in. guthrie was the only one to stop playing, and start sulking and waving his arms about

AirRaidSiren I do recall their being eleven players on the pitch and you seem to pick on the one, yet again, Guthrie made the scapegoat.

melonhead or maybe you could stop licking his arse as if hes done anything remotely justifying his big bollox attitude

On another thread I actually said that Guthrie was the pick of our central-midfield on the day. Which in itself is a bit like being voted best looking person in the burns unit. However, this thread was about Guthrie and I hinted in my comment on this thread that Guthrie has showed Adkins precious little to be hugely impressed by thus far. These last two performances have also not so much laughed but certainly chuckled in the face of those rabid revisionists who think that Guthrie's exclusion from the side this season has been chiefly to blame for our desperate season.

Extended-Phenotype Surely this "attitude" is something you've made up, though?

now that is just daft.
hes the only player to have refused to play, and is the only player i can visibly see moaning at his teammates and sulking on the field when things dont go his way.
so no.

Fair enough. But think the latter crit is an embellishment nurtured from the former.

He doesn't have a 'big bollox' attitude. He made a mistake not travelling to the Sunderland game. Gimps like you won't just let it rest.
Teams comprise, and need, different personalities. I wouldn’t exactly call Feds shy and retiring, Kebe is slightly nuts, Guthrie ‘sulks’ a bit. Big deal. You are imagining/making up a distinct change in ‘attitude’ while he was on the pitch on Saturday.

Sorry brendy but that really is bollocks.
I've seen just about every player have a pop at another for making a mistake or taking a wrong option. No team functions without it, at least not a winning one. I remember Pearce having a pop at his teammates being discussed on here as well as Federici and McAnuff amongst others. I've seen Le Fondre consistently get the arse when he's not played in when in a good position and anyone that's played any half decent standard will know that on the pitch you have to be able to give and take a bit of shit in order to compete.
I don't think I've seen any of our players really sulk though.

melonhead all it requires is for him to have one game where he plays well, influences the game positively, and doesnt give up/have a hissy fit at some point when things go wrong.
