Hound One big positive from last night is I thought we looked a LOT fitter than recently. Looked pretty fresh at the end whilst Bournemouth looked shot

It’s certainly one area I thought ince would improve on so hopefully that’ll continue for the rest of the year

That's probably due to consistency in selection. As much as we moan and groan about the performances of individuals, justifiably so, it also keeps consistency. That will always be under question with our recent results, but it shows who Ince trusts in the team, which can be an important factor for the team.

I'm not against changes (he made 4 last night for example) but he's shown faith in the players who he clearly trusts to keep us up this season.

I note there was no Clarke on the bench last night and following up on the Chronicle’s item today thought I’d agree that it is utterly bemusing that since his performance at Brum and subsequent recovery from injury he’s had very little pitch time under either Pauno or Ince.

Not saying he’s the striking saviour we all need but surely he should have been more involved so that he’s getting valuable experience esp. as he could be the only striker at the club next season who has played and scored for the first team.

How many fans did we take to Bournemouth? They sounded really loud on the highlights.

It was rammed to the rafters. Great atmosphere, best away evening for ages.

TBF after doing their Bournemouth thing after half-time, their home fans were church-mice.

Going through a dark time at the moment so yeah my posts regarding the team are more negative than usual.

And therefore totally understandable. Let’s hope that both see a bit of a change for the better as soon as possible.

FWIW your posts, even though not positive of late, still show to be from a likeable person.

Good luck finding any examples of me saying we should change a manager after 5 games, or pissing and wailing about game over and awful manager when 1-0 down after half a game against one of the top sides.

I don’t need to, but congrats on a really weak strawman.

I know. Woke up with a stinking cold and the idiots have gotten the better of me.

It is the same people who are acting surprised Danny Drinkwater was less than enthusiastic about clapping our support. We have been hurling abuse at him because he has been crap for about two months now, not sure we have any right to expect warm thanks from him.

Twitter is a bit of a joke. Supposedly our away support has been amazing this season. Sounds like there was a fair amount of abuse for players & booing last night. Same at Peterborough. One minute it was abuse, the next it was “Oh Reading we love you”. I don’t call that amazing support.

I do get the argument that taking numbers to away matches off the back of this dreadful season is good.

But we are consistently in the bottom 3 when it comes to away attendances. There’s one thing being loud & backing your team to the end (albeit with a boo at the end)…that’s good support. Abusive support throughout the games is not good support. But I think that’s all lost on the younger generation who classify good support as charging at the opposition fans & basing 80% of their chants on the opposition being shit or something meaningless like that.

You can’t expect players to clap the fans if they’ve been subject to abuse throughout.

Having said all that, Drinkwater is a prima Donna who doesn’t give a shit about Reading & he perfectly sums up everything that’s wrong with the club in 2022

We hate Drinkwater, he hates us. Nothing wrong with that, everyone knows where they stand.

Not sure if this group of players are more dislikeable than the group who finished the season under Brian in 2015, not a lot in it.

On a more positive note, I was impressed with Nyland. He might make the difference if he can hold his nerves as he beds in.

And Ejaria is back to his best, a game changer, making stuff happen out of nothing and scaring the shit out of the opposition.

As for Paul and Tom Ince - fair play to both of them great performances.

This squad should be in playoff form and there's no reason they can't be with the talent we have. I think teams will be quite surprised as Bournemouth were, expecting a crap relegation team, but coming up against the likes of Ejaria, Joao et al to rip them to shreds. Really the only issue atm is left back.

Oddly enough he had his effective moments on the left. I suspect as he's been out the picture a while he a) wasn't tireed and b) wasn't worked out and overmarked. Seemed to me like he took them by surprise. Certainly surprised me, I wasn't expecting him to slot back into top form!

Good for him, although reports suggest Bournemouth played open, which suits him.

Looked like he had a bit of a licence to create again but his defensive work was good

Some good quick crosses as well. Didn’t look totally miserable all the time either which is progress
