marcusopp
Ian Royal He's looked pretty lower league and clueless about what he's doing to me. Maybe he'll come good, but Saints really won't be good enough to challenge if they take him and need to play him regularly. League One is about as good as it'll get for Antonio IMO. At least for the next 2-4 seasons.

He is from tooting and mitcham to be fair!
He's not that young either. All I know that's good about him is that he's got a long throw.

He's 21 - he's not exactly on his last legs!

A month's loan seems a bit daft to me - if we don't need him, and Obita is ahead of him in the pecking order, then he may as well go for a season.

Shaka's Giant Hands In all honesty I wouldn't be surprised to see him loaned out to a team in League One to get some first team experience...

...I think that he would suit someone like Colchester.

It's probably a month with a view to extending it if it suits both parties. Either that it's something to do with the timings of the loan and recall dates or a specific injury they need to cover.

Big fan of Antonio but even I would admit that his short cameos and his one full league debut were disappointing. The man needs a run of games. He should get that at Colchester and then back here for another stint. He is so more effective playing through the middle for me and running at players. His long throw is also a valuable asset.

Let's hope he comes back a better player for the run of games and pushing for the first team again.

Yeah, I was told that the loan was delayed by a week or so due to Reading haggling over the length of the loan. Colchester wanted an initial 3 month loan I think but Reading weren't keen on that idea and said a month with possible extensions if suitable for all parties.

Guess this was so they weren't left to short if Jimmy went in the transfer window.

Does sound like he's doing well though which can only be good for us in the long term.

Recall him with immediate effect. With the team playing like this whats the point in extending his loan again.

Daft. We are in disarray.

I'd be very interested to see how he's doing on loan. Antonio seems a bit of enigma: atrocious with flashes of brilliance.

That pretty much sums up Kebe's first year or so...

I like Antonio, he only seems to play well with regular football though.

Was very quiet tonight. Had a couple of runs which seemed like they could go somewhere but his last touch let him down. Got very frustrated when things didn't go his way. Held of the defenders well - the centre halves for Brentford were big and he held his own against them. Blasted a shot wide from the edge of the box with the keeper stranded well off his line - seemed to be the end for him and he did little else before being subbed around the 55th minute.

He is very highly rated at Hillsborough. Wednesday fans are hoping that we get pormoted as they believe that will make Antonio surplus to our requirements and hence we might either sell him or let them have him on a season long loan.
