loyalroyal4life enter a new striker no doubt, just hope it is someone with proven quality and not a gamble signing.
still think (once new striker is in) that s.long should go out on loan and s.church can be the 4th striker

Jim Hacker/Cork City "Unless they are Irish"
What a stupid comment!
We'll gladly take back Doyle ,Mooney and Long seeing as you have such little regard for them.

I think he was being sarcastic if you read the whole thing. He is basicly saying speculation about signing strikers bores him, especially if they are foreign. Then his sentance at the end (remember this is all sarcasm) must also be reversed, meaning, he will only get excited if there is a rumour about us signing an Irish striker.
Well I think that is what he meant.

Stockport County OS Michael Raynes returned to the side after recovering from his hamstring strain and the County chief handed a debut to recent loan signing, Reading striker Dave Mooney.
... Anthony Pilkington had started the game well and he came close to giving the Hatters the lead on 17 minutes. Receiving a pass from Mooney he cut inside Michael Timlin and hit a curling left-foot drive that was well turned over by Peter Brezovan.
... The game began to swing County's way and they threatened again on 23 minutes when Tunnicliffe's deep free kick was nodded back across goal by Raynes. Mooney got his head to the ball and watched as it hit the foot of the post.
... Mooney showed quick feet two minutes later when he went past Jerel Ifil; Patrick Kanyuka saved the Robins with a well-timed tackle.
... After 32 minutes Mooney exploited the space down the Robins left. He passed up the shooting opportunity to try and play in the better placed Pilkington; unfortunately he pulled the ball behind the County winger.

Turns8 More like...a typical fan of a Div 1 team when they sign a Champ striker and expecting them score from every touch![]()
Used to happen to Reading all the time back in the day when we signed players like Mark Robins, Kevin Lisbie etc....

Missing an open goal from 4 yards wouldn't have helped
