Turns8 No refs from the select group due to there also being a full Premiership fixture list over the next 2 days...HTH

You say that but i remember watching sky sports news a few weeks ago and i think they were talking to jeff winter and he said that even if they are in the select group does not mean they will always get a premiership game for instance look at Lee Mason hes at Norwich v Southampton, also Alan Wiley takes charge of the game at Sheff Utd v Doncaster. Steve Bennett is one of the select groups finest behind Howard Webb, is at Afc Bournemouth v Luton tonight.

I think the Fa and the Football league tend to move the referees about is so that they dont get to familiar with teams and players

heathrow royal With him only officating in a few games this season i can only imagine that he is a poor referee.

Or he's been injured.

There are 20 referees in the Select Group and only a maximum of 10 PL games at any one time.

To be honest the ref done well this evening playing the advantage well allowing play to continue.

Full credit to his linesman for sticking up for himself which lead to collinns sending off. Its good to see officials starting to clamp down on the amount of abuse aimed at them

The only complaint I have about last night's ref was his positioning - getting knocked over by Gunnarsson(?), getting in the way of the ball to break up on of their attacks and also getting in the way when Harper(?) was trying to play an outlet ball out of defence to name but three.

Other than that agreed about the advantage (although he needs to make sure he signals that he is playing the advantage every time he is doing so) and a generally solid performance.

After hearing about Rob Styles performance yesterday, the SeLOLect group can stick their referees where the sun don't shine (with the exception of Howard Webb).

I thought he was pretty poor - what was that with signalling a free kick to us and then when the Wolves player was writhing around on the floor, he changed his mind and gave a free kick to them. The Wolves player had launched himself at Harper I think it was. A few times he gave dodgy decisions, but seemed to be better later in the second half.

I will think you'll find that the original foul was on Gunnarsson

He was clearly biased agsainst us, especially in the second half - he even sent off our goalscorer.

Thought he did OK overall. Only problem I had with him was the inconsistency when he booked one of their players in the first half for a pull-back on Kebe, but when exactly the same thing happened in the second half (damn, can't remember which one of our players got pulled back that time) he didn't book him.

As for the one where he changed his mind, TBH it looked to us like Gunnarson had clotheslined the guy, and we were surprised when he initially appeared to give the free kick to us.

Agreed, from where we were sat thought it was a free kick to them and a booking for Gunnarson.

I think that was because the first-half incident was obvioulsy deliberate, but the one in the second half had an element of doubt on whether he'd deliverately pulled him down or just got got tangled up/caught him as he fell.

I think it was Noel Hunt who got pulled back.
