Agree it sounds like a more interesting season.

It's kind of the one Vision was talking about and hoping for this time round.

I for one wouldn't mind missing out on promotion too much if it meant an exciting season next year.

Not sure the youngsters are really Coppell's legacy but I don't know how involved he is in managing them through.

Obviously he is the one who gives them their head in the first team and probably agree's to their loan moves, but I get the impression he doesn't do too much with them before that.

It must be partly him though, I'm not taking all the credit away from him!

just saying he..and the rest of teh management have given us a very healthy start to our first season when most of our prem stars have gone, and this gives us a good chance of making something of next season when other relegated clubs have cntinued to slide

swhat i reckon anyway

If we can build a team around Pearce/Ivar/Armstrong
Jem/Henry
Noel Hunt

Gonna need a lot of new signings. Coppell's never the man to do that.

I think there's a few players who are already out the door and more will be very quick to follow.

Luckily the way the club has been run, a new manager should get the backing he needs.

How much credit can go to Eamonn Dolan? It seems to me that it is in the last 2 or 3 years that some quality youngsters are emerging. The last time that such a good crop come through was when we had Archie, Adie and Scotty about the place. How long ago was that?

We should bring back Simon Cox to partner Noel. He would be cheap because of the 40% sell on clause and our team really will be packed with Reading academy graduates.

We all assume Cox would want to come back.

There would be a lot of expectation and pressure on the lad. He may feel better off staying away.

I dont know how it can be deemed as exciting as we will be hard pushed to replicate our position thus far this season. Alot of changes will mean alot of time needed for the players to gel and we certainly cant expect a manager to come in and get us promoted straight away.

I would like to see alan curbishley as the gaffer

most of the kids who have been touted as good enough for the championship have played together for a few years now

Exciting because it will mean new players coming into the side and a breath of fresh air into the squad.

It might be hard to replicate our current position but I fancy we might see some more interesting games and the prospect of seeing some youngsters getting into the team and developing in the first team is more a more interesting thought to me at the moment than watching the current side for the last 12 months.

i reckon a shakey start seeing us improve to sneak the playoff at the end

prefer it that way round as opposed to this seasons model

I don't really who goes or for that matter who comes in, as long as they actually want to play for Reading and they look like they care about winning a game or two

The first thing to do would be ban all the idiots that protested for Coppell to stay, as it's soley their fault that this season has been a total right off.

Are you on a wind up? We may be going through a period of patchy form, but in no way has this season been a write off. We still have promotion in our own hands, the best goal difference in the league, and memories of a number of excellent performances. We are 3rd FFS and some people need to realise that for a club like ours that is an excellent position to be in.

Incredible given that its coming from a bloke that predicted relegation at the start of the season!

We should have done better with the squad we have and the quality of the divison.

Made more frustrating by the posistion we were in before the new year.

Feels very much like last season, in they way we seemed to have just slept walked into a slump. Hopefully this year we can turn it round, the play offs are such a gamble anything could happen and I still get a feeling about Wolves. They've got a history of it...

I wouldn't be surprised if Coppell's replacement has been lined up since last summer.

Whatever, I want him to wave goodbye at the final whistle of this seasons final game with his successor in place ASAP.

Let the new man have the summer to decide who he wants to keep but I'll be highly dissappointed if next seasons team doesn't contain 3 or 4 of our highly promising youngsters who have all been sidelined by Coppell.

For me, one change should be non-negotiable. Another Coppell led campaign would seriously test my sanity :|
