melonhead which is probably why passing it out from the back is a better idea
goal kick is always going to be about 50-50

A better idea if you have players with the ability to move the ball forward themselves without losing the ball. Plus, 50/50 is worth the punt if the reward is high - i.e. winning the ball close to the oppositions goal.

Odd that we seem to be having more shots and chances playing a shorter game then...

Extended-Phenotype Apols, wasn't actually condemning our team there - just saying the tactic used depends on your team and style.

Personally, I don't think McD had enough confidence in our players, as demonstrated by some of his tactics and choices.

Jeez. One minute he had too much confidence in them the next he didn't have enough.

Aren't we supposed to be getting rid of a load of players because we need new ones who are "technically better"? Oh hang on it's the other way round and we should keep these players. Which one is it fellas? Wait, I've got the answer, don't know what you want. You just wanted McDermott out to chase an fantasy of what other clubs are doing rather than having our own identity with no thought of the real direction of what would happen afterwards.

Hopefully the club have got a better plan than the rest of his football manager playing friends.

I didn't want McDermott out, and there isn't a contradiction in my opinion, personally. McD felt his team playing in a particular way could escape relegation. Yet under pressure for points he may not have had the confidence in his players to ask them to play a more technical form of football. Adkins has come in and under no pressure, has pressed a more technical style on the team to see who is up to the task. It turns out quite a few are, which comes as a surprise to many. Now rather than a mass clear out, some peeps can see a decent spine of a team emerging under Adkins. This gives some people confidence as we know McD's style was neither particularly effective or fun to watch - trying something new, retaining our best and bringing in new folk seems something to look forward to.

Can't see any problems with that.

Nor can I and I came from the camp that did want McDermott out after the January failings!

Yep, I'd agree with all that.

I'm laughing at some of the posts I've read back.....I hope some of you are choking on your humble pie.

Now, can you imagine the team without him at present?
