Was quite looking forward to penalties, but watching Bournemouth v Huddersfield has put me off going through all that.

Ian Royal It's a difficult one to predict and clearly could easily be any sort of scoreline. I still think Swansea have been the better team, play the better football and are likely to negate our strengths and play to our weaknesses better than we can do to them.

But if we can disrupt their game and get our noses in front then it could just as easily become a rout for us.

But I can't feel positive about the game, the expectation and hope would hurt so much if we failed again. So I'm going to go expecting a decent battling performance but ultimate defeat. I've called Swansea as play off winners from the point we knew who was in them and I haven't seen anything to convince me otherwise yet.

I'd bloody love it if we won though.

That's all the bases covered, then...

I would agree with anyone who initially thought "Swansea are the better footballers"
but is it REALLY the case that they get better results?

I'm also aware that we narrowly lost 1-0 to them twice, but they were very close games that could have been 0-0 or 1-1

Swansea 27-26 Reading = GD for 46 Games

Swansea 29-29 Reading = GD for 48 Games (inc POs) (Identical)

Swansea 80-77 Reading = League Points for 46 Games (one extra win in 46 games)

Swansea 51-55 Reading = Points for the last 31 games (2/3 of the season)

Swansea 18-20 Reading = GD over the same period.

Swansea 31-26 Reading = Goals conceded away

So Swansea edge it on two counts, Reading edge it on 3 counts, with one equal

So no prediction at all, in fact...

But if we can disrupt their game and get our noses in front then it could just as easily become a rout for us.

so, IF, we score first, it COULD be a rout. Are you saying if we score first it WILL BE a rout?

And if THEY score first?

But I can't feel positive about the game, the expectation and hope would hurt so much if we failed again.
So I'm going to go expecting a decent battling performance but ultimate defeat.

So you HAVEN'T given a score-line, except to say Swansea will win. Not by how much, or in 90, or in 120, or by pens...

I'd bloody love it if we won though.

Of course.

So are you naming a score?

Is it in 90 minutes, 120 minutes or penalties?

Does it depend on who gets the first goal?

No, because I use my brain.

What is the likely team?

I think we will win in 90, whatever the team, but we could lose Elwood and/or Long
in training, and still be without Kebe. Seems a good idea to wait until the Friday!!!

Ian Royal It's a difficult one to predict and clearly could easily be any sort of scoreline.I think Swansea will win 2-1 with Harte scoring for us. I still think they have been the better team, play the better football and are likely to negate our strengths and play to our weaknesses better than we can do to them.

But if we can disrupt their game and get our noses in front then it could just as easily become a rout for us we could win 2-0 or 3-0, or 2-1 or 3-1, or maybe even get 4 goals

But I can't feel positive about the game, suspect we'll lose 2-1 or 2-0 or 3-1, maybe in the 90 minutes, maybe in extra time (or possibly penalties). The expectation and hope would hurt so much if we failed again. So I'm going to go expecting a decent battling performance but ultimate defeat, 2-0, 2-1, 3-0 or 3-1 (unless it rains) . I've called Swansea as play off winners from the point we knew who was in them and I haven't seen anything to convince me otherwise yet except a comprehensive win by Reading over Cardiff.

I'd bloody love it if we won though and that might be a lucky 1-0 or a late goal to make it 2-0, or it might be a single goal in extra time, or we might do it on penalties.

Understood

The Prisoner

Mr Angry We are the underdogs with the media, and, like last night, we will win.

I preferred your 'draw or narrow Swansea win' policy during the gr8 ate match winning run. I think that most neutrals will be behind Swansea, wanting to see a new club in the Premier League. Perhaps most neutrals will want to see Rodgers defeat his old club, our sacking of Jose's mate is probably seen as harsh by those not ITK.

Do you reckon? I reckon we have become a lot of people's favourite second team over the last five years. The 106 team, playing so well in the prem (1st season plus Liverpool win etc in the 2nd), cup wins @ Liverpool & Everton, refreshingly honest manager, etc. I live in the NW and there is a lot of love for us up here - had text messages from Liverpool, Preston, City and United fans last night wishing us luck. The Liverpool fan was honest and said he just didn't want Swansea fans in the prem trashing everything!!!

Just take a random sweep of forums from other clubs and there is a lot of praise and support for us!

I didn't have to look too hard for those, and whilst they are not filled with 100% love, 75% or so seem to want us there and not Swansea......

This from a fan of the club that got every team banned from Europe for 5 years

My Team for the Play off Final and predictions

by rfc2001 » 25 May 2011 13:04

I would have two approaches based on Kebe!!

If Jimmy is kit 4-5-1 play on the counter

Feds

Cummings (Griff to slow) MIlls Zuub Harte (can get away with one slow full back)

Jem L,wood

Jimmy Brian Jobi

Shane

If Jimmy isn't fit 4-4-2

Feds

Cummings Mills Zuub Harte

Tabb Jem L,wood Jobi

Shane noel

My bench would have

McCarthy
Pearce
Griff
howard
Beast
Church
Hal

I've noticed their team isn't blessed with height, so corners and stuff could be where we win it.

What would everyone go for!!!

There isn't one - Huw Jenkins & Sir John Madejski will fight it out on the centre circle.

Think Huw would take him in the first round. Unless SJM is a secret ninja.

The last time this happened Sir john got done by Mohammed al Fayed. Fulham stayed up and Madejski was on crutches.
