grey_squirrel Not Federici's biggest fan by a long chalk and never will be again after his shameful, non-disguised public 'come and get me' plea on SSN, but don't think we can pin most of our woes so far this year on him.
Although he is now guilty of an appaling regularity of being beaten at his near post, we have to build team continuity, which successfully starts from the back 5.
Doubt McD will chop him just yet.

andrew1957 One positive from last night is that the ridiculous anti Federici crowd should be silenced once and for all.
He might not be perfect but whilst he is here he will always be number 1 and last night proved why. Definitely 3 points won by the keeper as he kept us in it.

sandman It is one thing to prefer one keeper over the other but it goes a bit too far when you don't acknowledge the good things the other keeper does.

No-one's not acknowledging them - just saying that they believe that the other keeper has the ability to do the same and better.
You don't have to be useless to be dropped - you just have to be not as good as the other candidate. I believe the other candidate is a better long-term bet who should be playing now.

Svlad Cjelli That's where we disagree. I think they're currently of virtually equal standard - so close in standard that it'd not make any significant difference to the team whichever one plays.
But the key point is that McCarthy is about as good as Federici is despite having played 100 or so games fewer. Just think how good he'll be when he's allowed to have that sort of experience.
