biff Pearce holds this team back more than any other player IMO. To be a focal point of our play, but to be so poor with the ball on the floor is shameful. Ive never seen him pick a pass that cuts out a player, never seen him pick a pass thats ahead of a winger to run onto. Its like watching an animal with a broken limb, you just want it to be put out of its misery.

I've seen him do both those things, particularly remember a through ball which split Bristol City's centre backs and sent Long through on goal. Plus he's neither "a focal point of our play" nor "holding us back" - he's been a member of five or six sides which finished above this one.

It's not really your role as a centre back to be playing those passes every week. Hector doesn't do it, Zurab didn't do it, even Bikey didn't do it.

Ive done both of those things once as well. Digging very deep to find a decent ball a few years ago. To look that shambolic as the final man with the ball cant fill the team with confidence. He's a rugby player masquerading as a league 1 blockhead. Would die for the shirt but cant quite manage to play in it.

No worth the money he's on after having smoke blown up his arse when Liverpool were sniffing. Hector and Cooper more than adequate, and with potential for improvement.

But losing Feds will be like losing 10 points next season.

only if we just left the area between the goal posts empty for the season
plenty of decent shot stoppers available for not much, who we wouldn't need to be paying big wages to

Elm Park Kid Pearce is no doubt on 'real' money; so unless he takes a pay cut he's gone.

I expect they will offer Feds a fair deal, will just be a case of whether he thinks he can do better.

Karacan . . . . I suppose it's better to have him than not but I really can't see us using up precious wage budget on him.

I heard on the radio the other day Clarke say that he hasn't even thought about summer transfers yet. I seriously hope that he's just being coy . . . . .

in the same interview he said hed already made his recomendations

I see your gripe, but there are ball playing centre halves, then there are center halves that can at least pretend to be comfortable with the ball, first time passes and speculative efforts, and then there is Pearce. He plays like an u 10 playing with a size 5. Heavy touch to keep it somewhere within 10 feet of him, runs around it so its on the only foot he can use, hits it with his instep like a putter, usually behind them. Takes 3 seconds longer than it ever needs to. But yeah, he can head a ball alright, lets give him a contract.

Intrigued to know if it will be for less money. Federici could add another 5-10k easily by jumping up a league. Tougher for the other 2, but if people are chucking money at Morrison ...

Haag Royal I would seriously try and offload/ get rid of/not re sign Pearce, Karacan, Obita, McCleary, HRK. Pog and Blackman. Use the money to pay Feds, Mackie and 2 strikers. Play some of the U21's,

On one hand, you want to play the U21s, on the other, you want to sell the one who has held down a place in the first team for two years. Do you see how these positions could be contradictory?

Are you sure you aren't confusing Pearce with Sonko? They were both ginger for a while.
