If Reading had beaten Barnsley...perhaps......they didn't so they'll be lucky to make the play-offs with Swansea and Preston hitting form.

I'd love to see a Swansea v Cardiff play off final. Although I wouldn't be too happy about a Welsh team being in the English Premier League.

At odds of 50/1, you are indeed delusional.

50/1 looks like generous odds to me now that we are 4th. Just need on form Preston to win at Brum and Sheffield to draw one of the next 2 and two wins for Reading of course.

if Burnley win at Southampton Preston will have nothing to play for in the later kick off

andrew1957 Astoundingly with Sheffield losing tonight the jar is still a tiny bit open for automatic promotion. We need to win all three and have a few results go our way but stranger things have happened.

I know I will get the usual abuse for posting this but I for one will not lose hope til it is mathematically impossible.

I personally think it will not be possible after tomorrow but if we do win tomorrow then we just need:-

Cardiff to draw one of their last 3 (highly possible)

Shef Utd to draw one of their last 2 (playing Swansea saturday- so a must win for the swans and then Colin's lot on the last day of the season...so again highly possible)

Brum to lose their penultimate game( 5.15 K.O. Saturday, against Prston - a must win game for Preston so slightly possible).

Us to win our last 2 - nO F**KING chance.

Play offs it is then!!!!!

Ok ...so there were 6 things needed for us to go up automatically... us to win 3, cardiff to draw one, shef untd to draw one and Preston to beat Brum.

Well Cardiff got the draw and we won one so far...

... 2 down 4 to go... could it happen....... still no fu**ing chance.

We live in hope.

Actually it was 7 as Sheffield had to lose at Burnley so it is 3 from 7 so far.

As for Preston having nothing to play for - most teams like to finish the season strongly and they have just come off the back of a 6-0 win so even with nothing to play for they may just surprise us.

Not quite. Cardiff would also have to get a point too.

If Cardiff can lose by six to Preston then they will believe that the +6 GD remaining is certainly still overturnable.

A defeat for Southampton will see them relegated. Burnley will have a tough game.

Birmingham need a win in ront o their own fans to go up, they aren`t likely to blow it, but from what Ive seen that will be one relegation place booked from the prem already for next season

I dunno, Hull, Stoke, Wigan, Bolton, one of Boro, Newcastle, Blackburn...

Hell even Man City and Spurs are capable of arsing it up and going down.

EDIT forgot Pompey, maybe Fulham...

Have you seen the table this morning ?

Only a miracle of water to wine proportions would prevent at least a play-off place.

Thats 11 out of 20 clubs named and that doesn't include WBA! Nothing like keeping your options open. :D

They're down already as far as I'm concerned, so are irrelevant to next seasons Prem.

Not all those clubs will be fighting for survival. But all are more than capable of a season shit enough to be potential relegation fighters.

PS I may it 12 taking into account the three promoted teams.

...being chased by that little dog that found the World Cup in '66? ...now that would be "dillusional".

None of the bookies were quoting a second place market online, so I phoned one up and asked them for a price directly.

That was before the Derby game, so the price would obviously be much lower now.
