Fixtures 2013-14 - First Game

Fixture list release is the most underwhelming football-related day of the year. It's just a list of 46 games against dreary opposition over the course of several months.

This, with the added of the reminder it brings this time of the abject failure of board, management and players last season in surrendering our top flight status.

Leicester and Boro away at xmas, the worst set of festive fixtures since 91/92 when we travelled to Bury and Hull.

Had forgotten what it feels like to look at the fixtures and be thinking 'we can win that, we can beat them' etc instead of 'erm we might get a point there, might score a goal against them'. Massive excitement for the season now.

This is a dreadful fixture list for me - I am devastated.

All the best away trips clash with weddings, holidays and cricket.

Yeovil, Bournemouth, Blackpool, Huddersfield - 4 out of my top 5 trips blown out of the water.

I was looking forward to a season back in the championship with quality away trips, but this has been ruined by the fixtures computer.

As long as we avoid Yeovil away & Huddersfield away when I'm on holiday in September I don't care.

The only annoying thing for me is Boro away between Christmas and new year. Might be going to university in Middlesborough (because I'm thick) next year and that would be one game I could guarantee going to but they put it at a time when I'll definitely be back home!

Good news is that Yeovil's in August so I can go to that! The one away trip I'm genuinely salivating over!

It certainly is a tough start most games are against teams that should be there or thereabouts in the play offs,
come the end of the season.

Sometimes it's unavoidable - unless you want to holiday when it's crowded and expensive because of the school holidays or far too hot where you're going.
