The 'Number 10' Playmaker Thread

by royalp-we » 01 Sep 2015 09:05

Following Hurtado and now Piazon joining us; is this really the first time since we had Gylfi on the books, that we find ourselves with players able to fill that natural 'number 10 playmaker' position?

On Drenthe joining I had really hoped at the time that he would adopt the role, but we all know how that one played out. Any other arrivals since then able to sit in that free reign?

It's early days, but back at work today following the bank hols and I'm hard at the thought of it all.

Would loved to have seen HRK there maybe 2 years ago but he just hasn't got the technical ability now (Yes I know where he plays but it would have been worth a shot). Other than that no one really ticks the boxes. Just for the record didn't Piazon play on the wing for Vitesse/Frankfurt? Not sure on his position.

Been to Bath in the caravan m8

Not much work getting done with all this transfer talk in the office. Aldershit, Wolves, Man Utd and Leeds fans. Most talk about little old Reading, which makes for a nice change

Piazon can play Left / Right or the No10 position according to his interview on the OS http://mobile.readingfc.co.uk//news/art ... 61473.aspx

Agreed on HRK, I haven't ever been sure on his best position and not really sure why he has the number 9 shirt.

Brian Howard anyone?

Isn't Fernandez also a Fabregas style player, i.e. can play 10?

This is the type of player we have been crying out for, and the type of player I've been talking about for more than a year.

It appears now we finally have this player, in Lucas Piazon. Perhaps Hurtado can also play there but I don't think that's the position we bought him for.

Piazon to be the new Gylfi 8)
