Allocation at Newcastle

by Farnborough Royal » 22 Nov 2006 18:14

I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but how can a team with a capacity of 52,000 get away with giving us 1,400 tickets?

1400 is probably all they give the club on a sale/return option.
I need an extra ticket if anybody had got 1 going spare.

i think it's because reading fc have asked for the smaller allocation as they believe we wont sell that many. If we sell out the 1400 we are given (which i doubt) we can apply for more tickets up to 3000 i believe

Yep, they will give us that on sale or return if we sell them then we will apply for the other 1,600.

If we took all 3,000 now, the club would have to pay for them regardless of if they are sold. As it is a midweek game in December, they are obviously taking the safety first option.

Great support for a wednesday night. I wouldn't be too surprised if we sell out the other 500.

Next year's match won't neccessarily be on a Wednesday night. People may decide to stay up there for the weekend if it's a weekend game.

Because about 1000 of those are to AST holders. We are not able to go to a mid week game as unable to get the time off work. However our seats will not be empty as we have managed to pass them onto someone who can go, but I imagine there will be quite a few in a similar situation to us.

I would think a high percentage of ASTs not going would pass theirs on wouldn't they. I don't know of many people who would sit on £30+ tickets and not resell.

And I bet there will be quite a few empty AST seats on the day too. Which begs the question - why did many people even bother with their AST?

If you've got the money why not? Guarentees you a seat at every away game you fancy, without any hassle of booking tickets. If you don't fancy Blackburn on a Tuesday that's your perogative.

Agreed, I have already missed Pompey away this season but sorted out a fan who probably would have missed out on a ticket with it instead. All the others I have been to.
