Dirk Gently I can't see any change in the price. It'll be justified by the 4 other home games.

Spot on - that is exactly what they will do. The incentive will be this....renew now at this years price - if we go up you get 2009/2010 season ticket free - you heard it here first!!

OK so 18-000 st take this up, at £575 a ticket thats just over £10million from ST sales, however JM will still want to sell the club, therefore the potential value for new owners would be lower, cant see JM taking that loss risk.

Besides I wonder how the Charlton fans feel about their free ST following promotion this season?

edit, having looked up on the Charlton site ST there are at followinfg rates, and the free ST should they get promoted is happening again.

Adult prices

Posh Seats £475
Upper west J/K/Q/R & east A/B/G/H £450
Upper north & north west quadrant £340
lower north £290

In all honesty is looks like RFC might have the most expensive seats, (cheapest available) in the Championship next season.

No chance, Charlton could do it due to their increased capacity. If we had 32,000 seats then it would be a viable idea.

I envisage ST's staying the same but match day tickets coming down in price, they 'll keep the banding for opposition as well. It's exactly what Crystal Palace did and they are the club we based our ticketing system on

£30 plus for Championship football = a Joke.

Agreed. I probably wouldn't go to as many Championship games anyway, but the thought of paying about double the price that tickets used to cost doesn't really appeal, especially as on the evidence of this season the quality of the Championship is inferior to when we were in the division.

It is put into perspective though when you consider that League 2 clubs charge around £16-£19 on average for tickets, and in League 1 a lot of clubs charge around £20 (Gillingham's most expensive ticket cost £23 this season, an absolute joke). Its become more expensive to watch football in general, in any division.

Will they keep the different prices depending on who we're playing next season if we're relegated? I somehow doubt it, which should also mean that the ST prices come down. My guess is around £450-£480 for adults.

Until relegation or not is known this is very much a hypothetical question. Assuming we get relegated, unless there is a reasonable reduction in the price of a season ticket (say £100 reduction), i wouldn't be surprised if only 9000-10000 will renew their tickets for next season. Such is the annoyance amongst many long standing supportors who have held season tiockets for years at what really has been an abysmal season, devoid of any real enertainment at many home matches coupled with appalling management by Coppell and Madjeski.

Just a reminder to everyone that in January & February 2006, when promotion looked like it was a near-certainty, the Football Club signed up to the "STAR Ticketing Blueprint." This was a document listing a number of principles on how we believed ticketing should be run and priced.

Point 1 of this document states :

1. Match & Season Ticket Prices
• should represent a fair price for Premiership football and level of demand,
• should be set at a level which helps ensure the team’s Premiership survival,
• should reflect the division in which the team are playing, and so should be properly reassessed in
the event of relegation

When the club announce season ticket prices for next year - which I expect them to do soon - I very much hope that they will remember and respect the last point, above.

Agree entirely. RFC would never do that - it is run by a businessman, and consequently, revenue is higher on the agenda than a packed stadium or rewarding loyal fans.

What they should do is what Charlton have done and offer a free ticket for the following season should we go up. It would be better if they said if we DON'T go up you get a free ticket the following season, but the odds on that are a lot shorter than the odds on going back up. We wait and see, but I would say if they don't do anything then it is scandalous, although am I right in saying that £545 season ticket is equivalent of about £24 a game? If so then that seems fairly normal. Expect tickets to be £26-£28 then you are making a saving of £50-£100 over the season... Not that I want to justify them freezing prices, but having just looked at those figures I fear that is exactly what will happen.

Coppelled Streets I don't think you'll see much of a change if any.

Excuses:

1. You get 23 home games for the price. (last season you got 19)
2. Wage bill needs paying....
3.
4.
5.

???

3. Transfer fees of players coming to the club to make an instant return (only for none to appear)

Surely it would be commercial suicide to keep the prices the same if we go down?
A lot of fair weather fans would stop coming whatever the price was, and I just cant see people who had ST's before 06/07 payign so much more than they used to

Theres no way in the world I would pay £545 for Championship football. £400ish would be reasonable

wasn't the price £360 the season we won the title, so three years on i would expect the price to have risen by about 20%so about 430 is my guess, though this is all irrelevant as we are staying up.

It was £360 for the East Stand that season and for the two prior to that if memory serves. They could even use the fact that prices were lower than they could have been at that time to justify not dropping them down again.

I think they are most likely to reassess them in a similar manner to which the former Mayor of London used to consult!

'We have properly reassessed the prices and decided that they represent good value for money, particularly in light of the extra home games and the fact that we still have a squad of Premiership class players. Maintaining the existing price structure will ensure financial stability and enable a quick return to the Premier League.'

To be honest, our season tickets should not be used towards any of the wage bill etc. If my maths serves me correctly we should still have about £80 mill unused from the windfall of two seasons in the Prem. Yet to see any of this yet mind.

You are falling into the trap of thinking that we haven't had to spend any money in the past 2 seasons.

Plus £10m parachute payment for next season and £10m for the season after that.

Ticket Prices went up because we were in the Premier League and had to buy new players (which didn't really happen), So putting them up because we're not in the Premier League isn't something I will tolerate. I've seen us win the Championship in style, I don't need to watch championship football again at any cost. Keep it the same price of lower and I will renew.

£545 was what it cost me to renew in the West Lower last season, That's the maximum I am prepared to pay next season regardless of what division we're in.

I believe that now it is an absolute minimum of £12M per season for the next two seasons, plus whatever we get for this year, including 'prize' money for finishing 19th!
