'Police Intelligence' - often shown to be something of an oxymoron!

LOL at the several hundred who turned up at a student demo of about 50 people after the students played the authorities at their own misinformation game and arranged a phantom demo over the social networking sites.

Looked like the police got it wrong again on Saturday. A carrier full of them in the Lidl car park before the game (perhaps the Hull trouble makers like a bargain) and no sign whatsoever of trouble or trouble makers before, during or after the game. Do Hull have a well-founded reputation for nasty supporters?

So did anything useful come out of the fans forum the other evening or will supporters in Y25 + Y26 have to continually be subjected to over officious stewarding?

Leads to prove my theory that Star are just there to accept what the club tell them and I'd be surprised if many of the supporters gripes about poor stewarding, expensive refreshments and the like are ever taken to the club for discussion.

Not that I'm a STAR apologist by any stretch of the imagination, but surely the meeting organised by STAR that was for members and stewards to speak was exactly what you're saying they don't do? :|

What happened in Y25/26 today?

With the QPR fans as well?

Large group of fans at the front of Y26 would not sit down, and when surrounded by stewards they were given vocal support by the rest of Y26 8)

Individuals hauled out, but overall good atmosphere and the stewards had to keep their distance.

And yet only polite words were given to that gobby shite in the away end. Once again a clear case of the easier targets being removed.

A word of thanks to the steward in the upper west who confiscated, as they are apparently banned, the vuvuzela being blown a few seats behind me.

Big LOL at the steward in the first half who came to the front of y26 and was flapping his arms trying to get people at the front of the stand to sit down, the response was even better!

Seriously. :| Interesting that footage is kept for 6/7 years and the claim comes in that the camera is sometimes used to zoom in and not record. Perhaps we can have a 'silence - recording session in progress' sign above the safety stewards head.

The strange thing last night was there seemed to be no real effort at all to make the fans sit down. Many in the area stood for the whole match.

Yet a mate of mine got warned before the match about complaints about him swearing. They even had close-up photos of him, and a log on complaints.

He does swear, but it's only heat of the moment stuff, at the same time as several thousand other people swear, so it's a little odd. And yes, I appreciate some parents with children might not like it, but it's football, not a creche, and if people want to avoid swearing they should go to a family stand.

That's one of the big problems with all seater stadiums. Nobody at Elm Park would complain to the club because people regularly swore in the right side of the south bank. They'd just move to another part of the terrace, where their type of fan would watch from.

If you can have family areas where swearing etc isn't tolerated, then surely there's room for having a more "adult" section of the ground too, and families could be advised to buy tickets away from that area.

The atmosphere in the first half was decent and if Reading had kept up in the second half the atmosphere would have been decent.
