Reading World

by Y25 » 16 Feb 2007 13:32

I would like to suggest that this should be free subscription and incentive to renewing season ticket holders next season.

I'm fed up of paying out to RFC all the time. If anyone from marketing at the club reads this - please bear this in mind.

3 season tickets, 2 kits, a load of away games and season review DVD costs a bit so here the club could be seen to be giving something back.

They would get more web hits aswell!

Web hits mean nothing unless they equate to money.
I think it should be cheaper too, but I imagine theres a lot of people sharing subscriptions.

You don't HAVE to pay out on anything. Never forget you have a choice!

More people visiting Reading World = more people seeing ads on Reading World.

Make them register and a database of potential customers is achieved.

Reading World should be treated as a tv channel... in fact, with IPTV just around the corner that's where the club should be heading.

Oh for the days in the 80s and before when coverage of Reading amounted to the spurious scribblings of the Chronic, Evening Post, a few lines in their sister papers across Berkshire, the listing of match results in the national press and James Alexander Gordon mentioning the result on SportsReport.

Cheaper and much more rewarding when you found something....

Web Hits = Money

I would LIKE to see Reading World now and again but not pay for it.

I wouldn't mind paying £19.99 if they reduced my season ticket price next season!

I read in the commercial blokes article that they would be looking into incentives to get extra 'bums on seats' when they expand the Mad Stad.

I very much doubt they will offer any incentives to those who they already know will pay to go!

It's all academic for me now anyway, as Reading World has succumbed to the evil world of DRM, meaning I cant watch it on my Mac anymore.

Good old premium TV...let's punish people for being clever and discerning consumers!

Hits don't equal money.
Hits only equal money if people click on advertising.

Don't forget that Reading World isn't aimed to the people who get to go to matches - it's primarily aimed at exiles.

But, as I say, you have a choice if you think it's too expensive - you don't have to buy it! I never have and don't feel that I've lost out in the slightest.

Y25 Web Hits = Money
Only if someone's paying, otherwise Web Hits = Costs incurred.

Once the NTL/Reading World deal expires we may see some changes.

unless you don't live near the madstad and want the live commentary, why subscribe to reading world?

you get most of the news off the free part of the website, so you miss some interviews and maybe a highlights package.

Most of the money will go to "premium tv" not the club.
