Hoop Blah
TBM
winchester_royal Not surprised, the guy was always on borrowed time.

He was but why give him a 2 year deal in June?

Surely he needs more than 4 months to build the team he wants/needs

If he didn't at least have the air of a permanent manager then the players would probably have shown less willingness to listen to him.

The two years might even have just been the minimum he'd sign or seen as his reward for the FA Cup and CL wins.

Yep.

Plus 4 months is a long time for Roman to change his mind. He probably wanted to give RDM a chance to prove he wasn't a one-hit wonder; and given some of his curious tactical decisions (e.g. playing without a recognised striker last night) and the lack of improvement from Torres, Abramovich has probably come to the conclusion that he just isn't very good.

Saying that...I don't see the logic behind sacking RDM just to put Benitez in charge short-term till Guardiola is ready. May as well have just stuck with him for another few months..

I think the timing is to allow 5 weeks to get to know the squad before making changes in the January transfer window.

In another few months the window will be just about to close.

Might be relevant if the manager actually chose all the signings which almost certainly isn't the case at Chelsea.

'Greed.

Plus even if it was up to the new manager what's the point if he'll be gone at the end of the season when Pep is ready?

winchester_royal and the lack of improvement from Torres,

Unless the next Chelsea manager is a hypnotist or faith healer the above is just not going to happen.

Torres looks more out of place than anyone I can remember. He looks lost, as if he doesn't know what to do, let alone have the skill to do it

He hasn't been THAT bad this season. Some games he's played very well, but just not scored. He's always going to be judged on his goals though.

Mrs F and No.2 son are both Chelsea fans ..... I can tell you their reaction that he really has been that bad this season.

How many has he scored this season ?

How many have been legal ?

He's scored 7 in all competitions.

And I take your missus and son don't go to games then or watch football first? He has been shite in some games - no denying, but he hasn't been THAT bad overall. He's been shit the last month though.

Your assumption is not correct (no surprise), but everyone's entitled to their opinion. In their opinion he has had one or two adequate games, but even in the games he's scored he hasn't been playing at anywhere near the level everyone expects from a 'world class' striker.

Really ? Pointing out that you'd made an assumption without knowing anything about those that you're making the assumption about.

Hardly bitchy ..... unless you're saying that they're not entitled to their opinion

I think hes been poor for a long time (about 3 years), he was pretty crap in his last 6 months for us. One of the things he has lost along with his confidence is his pace. First 2 seasons for us he was like shit off a shovel and could give a defender 3 or 4 yards head start and sprint past him to get to the ball. We done well to get £50m off you lot for him. But before you jump in, i agree we wasted most of it on Carroll.
