Royalee
floyd__streete I think we've ascertained by now that Rodgers owns McDermott, of course. But I'd far rather have a drink with Brian than Brendan. There was a good article in the Mail ( ) earlier this season ridiculing Brendan's psychobable. That said, he's in the Prem and they might even stay up whilst Reading are appalingly bad to watch. But I don't warm to Rodgers. Shifty.

gets his teams playing football the right way

not here he didn't
and uses the media to his advantage particularly in the transfer market

Tommy Smith, anyone?

Having a spat live on air with a Radio Berks reporter?

Whether Brendan is a good manager or not is really immaterial. Here, he was a failure, and showed no signs of reversing the trend or even admitting there was a problem. We were getting worse under him, and the players looked to be losing faith with his ideas.

100% 'greed too.

Under the right circumstances he's good, and you could argue he's learnt important lessons from his time with us, but he was still an utter failure with us who got it completely wrong.

Uses the media well.

Glad he failed with you. Reaping the benefits. Enjoying the ride and if he does well then he'll be off...just hope we get 2-3 more years and that it doesn't end up a al M*rtinez.

NI manager elect

things looked like turning slightly for the better for us just when he was culled

The BBC Berks thing was as much of an embarressment to them as it was to him

No looking back for this Reading man

Reckon? Well, he does have a history of promising to stay, lecturing others as to his integrity.....and then leaving. Is a bigger club really going to want him? He has done well with the Swans, but he has only marginally improved a side who I rated best in our division for the two seasons before he took over. As we have said before, the infrastucture in place there beforehand was perfect for Rodgers.

Not really true though, is it?

21 league matches

First 7: W1 D3 L3

Next 7: W1 D1 L5

Last 7: W3 D2 L2

Clearly weren't gettign worse, the results were improving. The last game was v Scunthorpe where we totally dominated them and only atrocious finishing from Gylfi in particular prevented that record reading W4 D1 L2.

Don't warm to the bloke at all but he deserved more time.

i felt the same, he did deserve far more time.

I don't think he would have taken Swansea up without the Reading experience though, he made a hell of a lot of mistakes here that he learnt from, especially all the media and dossier bollocks he cooked up which he appears to have rid of.

he wasn't disposed of particularly because of results, though. His attitude pissed off one too many important people.

That's why stats are misleading. Results improved briefly, and then dipped again just before he went. Last two games were a poor defeat against Palace and a draw with Scunny. Both teams set to finish just above relegation and our win before those two was against relegated Wednesday.

If you lead a team that was in the play offs before you took over, into a relegation dog fight, you don't deserve more time. I don't care if you lost three or four important players.
