Maguire
Rev Algenon Stickleback H Here, he was a failure, and showed no signs of reversing the trend or even admitting there was a problem. We were getting worse under him

Not really true though, is it?

21 league matches

First 7: W1 D3 L3

Next 7: W1 D1 L5

Last 7: W3 D2 L2

Clearly weren't gettign worse, the results were improving. The last game was v Scunthorpe where we totally dominated them and only atrocious finishing from Gylfi in particular prevented that record reading W4 D1 L2.

Don't warm to the bloke at all but he deserved more time.

listen to the radio interview before he was sacked m9

he was clueless, get over it

That's why stats are misleading. Results improved briefly, and then dipped again just before he went. Last two games were a poor defeat against Palace and a draw with Scunny. Both teams set to finish just above relegation and our win before those two was against relegated Wednesday.

If you lead a team that was in the play offs before you took over, into a relegation dog fight, you don't deserve more time. I don't care if you lost three or four important players.

Very well said.

Facepalm. Here was me thinking players and their quality were important factors in performance. Someone should tell everybody in the whole world this isn’t true.

If I can find a stupider post, I’ll eat my desk.

You're a bit late on the scene. I didn't say they weren't important, I didn't say he should do as well or better, I think history has amply shown the talent to stay up comfortably was definitely at the club.

Probably a bigger achievement than losing at home to Barnsley and Watford.
