Remind me who set up the only goal of the game? A full back bursting up the pitch doesn't seem very 'park the bus' to me....

Howard Webb was great, tried to keep the game flowing throughout.

Real Madrid did an excellent job of subduing Robben who rarely got one-on-one with his opponent in a dangerous area. Isco was one of the best players for Madrid who helped smother the danger.

Bayern's defence is there to be got at and leave some surprisingly generous gaps for the other team to attack.

Not sure if serious...definitely a game of two halves from that perspective.

Possibly a final Ancelotti v José against each other's clubs.

Just LOL at Bayern though

Bit of double jeopardy for Madrid if they go through. Get Atleti then it's a local rival who have really grown in the last year and a half and also own a win in a cup final against Madrid.

Get Chelsea and they're up against a man who knows them inside and out, has a lot of experience in big games and as we saw on Sunday knows how to win them.

Plus all the pressure would be on them with the possibility of la decima.

Pep throwing in the towel and going for damage limit8ion at half time by taking off a striker for a defensive midfielder.

Has a Champions League or European Cup final ever been contested between two sides from the same city before? Or any of the other European competitions for that matter

genome If it was an all Madrid final they might as well just move the final to the Bernabeu or Vicente Calderon and save everyone the hassle of travelling to Portugal

Doubt you'd find many on the Real Madrid side who'd want it at the Bernabeu, they don't have a great record in big finals playing there. Lost the Copa Del Rey final to Deportivo on the night of their centenary and lost last years Copa final to Atleti.

Real scored 4 goals, and Bayern scored none.

Oh. Real scored four and Bayern scored none, because Real put the ball inside the goal four times, whereas Bayern couldn't manage the same.

TBM I know it's nice to see a "new" team doing well etc but my word Atletico play boring football, reminds me of how Inter won it or Chelsea the other year. 10 men behind the ball and the look for that 1 counter attack.

Effective - yes
Attractive - no

And as I have no ties with any of the clubs left I want probably Real to win it simply cos they are better to watch.

Bayern players spent the whole game standing around admiring each other passing the ball to feet. Real attacked by running at defenders and passing the ball into space.

That result last night was a wake up call to all the English pundits (and all Chelsea fans) who think that when (not if) Chelsea get to the Final it will merely be a formality before John Terry lifts the trophy. Stunning display by Real Madrid.

Actually I think it's the other way round and people are assuming Madrid are going to win the final easily.
