We can have him for £4.7 million when we're promoted according to some paper this week.

4.7 million for a striker that has scored 1 goal all season?

It was a good goal, though?

Despite being played out of position for Stoke, and scoring one more than Kevin Doyle has managed for Reading recently

Ouch

Surely things are not quite as simple here as some suggest.

It seems almost certain that the figure being quoted amounts to little more than ripping up the original transfer to Stoke.

If we don't go up (a near certainty in my eyes) we will be saying "You can keep Dave, carry on with the payments, thanks" unless Stoke are prepared to lower their sights.......................and I can't see an injury prone 30 year old with one goal this season being worth huge amounts to anyone else.

Funny how he moaned about being played too deep by Stoke, then comes back here and plays too deep...

Remeber the second half of the Premiership relegation season
when we played long balls to K-D all the time and defences
ate them up?

Even if K & D are the best two players I don't think we should play both
because that seems to stop us even TRYING to play football

One big guy, one whippet, smash and grab is the way to play. K or D should be 12th man

But personally, even if Kits gets one a game for the rest of the season and we win auto-promotion
I think we should take the money and go for a different type of striker)

I agree why go for a striker who clearly cant play in the prem (if) we got promoted and if we stay down I would rather go for anyone else than Kits his day has gone. He only came back tail between legs because he isnt ambitious, Do you remember how and when he left us for Stoke? Christ we all have short memories.

I'm pretty sure that if we want him permenantly then stoke wont get in our way as long as we offer a reasonable amount of cash ( probably similar to what they sign him for). But from what I've seen of him so far...No Fanks...
