McDermott denies Reading FC interest in Spurs striker Defoe

http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/footb ... iker_defoe

McDermott also said the same about Alfie too.

And when quizzed as to whether Reading had contacted the north Londoners over Defoe's availability McDermott added: "I don't know to be honest with you. Nick (Hammond) might have spoken to Daniel Levy, he speaks to him quite regularly."

Crafty.

A £10 million plus transfer fee.

Extortionate wages.

Surely little old Reading hasn't grown up that quickly?

I've been banging that fat bird that Defoe had an affair with, and can confirm this is happening.

I never believe anything he says anymore, not after Le Fondregate or in January when he said "I can't see us making any more signings, not with the current regime", a week later, TSI and Roberts, Connolly and Cywka.

Don't forget that ol' Jonny boy also claimed that McDermott was in talks with Wolves then backtracked quicker than an ecstasy fueled moonwalk.

"We're not interested in Adam Le Fondre"
a week later we've bought him.

"I cant make anymore signings, under this regime"
A week later TSI announced.

Expect this one to be wrapped up next week then?

No all he said about ALF is that "hes not on our list".
Dellor pushed him saying, so does that mean your not looking at him?
He then said, hes not on our list.
I mean that meant nothing!
Id imagine a few mins later he called Nick and said, this french lad at Rotherham, can you pop him on our list?
This is the only instance of BMC signing a player he previously appeared to rule out.

This time it was a "No".

The bit about Hammond and Levy talking was just to wind people up!

£10 Million is extortionate... I wouldnt even say half of that. £3Million is around the right price

Why would we sign Defoe???

there is nothing about him that fits the ethos of Reading.

He is on stupid money and to be fair unless its a swap deal for Simon Church I dont want him.

We already have 7 strikers if you include Church and Manset also McCleary is down as a striker on the OS .. I think including the likes of Brett Williams theres 10 or 11 strikers at the club do we need another? Are we going for the Warnock approch and naming a team of strikers?

Creative Centre Midfield Centre back and maybe another Right back ... nothing else is needed

Defoe has been consistently inconsistent throughout his career, yes he knows where the goal is at times however most of the time he couldnt find the goal with a sat nav
