Oh great, swap lightweight and uncreative for heavyweight and uncreative. Either way we see none of the ball and make bugger all chances.

At the moment we have a part time player in Kebe and a leightweight Convey on the wings. Harper is a player who excels when those around him are playing well. Get a left back and shift Hunt up the pitch and put Karacan in the middle and we could get away with carrying Kebe on the right, or even "making do" with Henry, Doyle, NHunt or Convey there.

TBH IMO just bringing in Karacan for Cisse will make the world of difference. Cisse hasn't made an appearance in midfield yet. Despite being on the team sheet there probably about a dozen times.

Of course, you are entitled to your opinion Ian, but to me it defies belief that anyone can't see that Bikey is becoming an exceptional player, and is already a massive asset to Reading. When all are fit and present, I see Hahnemann, Doyle and Bikey as the 'definites' for the teamsheet.

would be the answer to all our problems IMO

he plays at FB for his country alot,
would provide the strength, tackling ability, etc we need in the middle
and would be the big striker we need too

if he played RW he would be awesome there too i expect.

can we clone him?

Perhaps that's why we haven't spent any money this summer. Coppell is waiting on the results of an Andre Bikey cloning experiment which the club has been backing financially for the last year or so. It all makes sense, the answer lies within the squad and all that. It's genius.
We all dream of a team of Andre Bikeys...

I'd leave right wing duty to Sonko myself. that was a tasty little run against Forest.

Certainly as good if not better than Kebe's in th esecond half. Which means a player who spent virtually his whole game at the centre of defence was as much an attacking threat on the wing as the person who "played" there all game.

Yep I agree with you re these three....I'm also far from convinced that Karacan is ready for the Championship.

When Bikey comes back into the team it will be in the centre of midfield.

I really like Bikey, I even think he has potential in midfield. But not paired with Karacan. Too inexperienced and in theory not very creative.

I'm happy to see him in there alongside Harper or Matejovsky if Karacan isn't looking up to it(still don't rate Cisse as a midfielder even if he improved in the last game). At the moment though I'd prefer Bikey in central defence with Sonko.

sounds like a song  I would definatly have Bike in the midfield or at full back, I think he's almost wasted playing CB, especially seeing as we have more than adequate cover, could he be the answer to the LB question??

Dont see him as a left back....he would be wasted there...central midfield alongside Harper and I would keep him there when Matejovsky gets back. I would then play Matejovsky ahead of Convey in a wider left position although not as a winger obviously.
Either that or have Bikey alongside Sonko in central defence.
The trouble is I can see Coppell keeping him on the bench again for long stretches which is a complete waste of a very good player.

I doubt he will get back in there tbh, with Sonko looking very good and Ingi his usual reliable self. We need to strengthen in the midfield, someone who can tackle and Bikey would be perfect for that. Even though Cisse likes to get stuck in he does give away too many fouls.

Bikey is better placed in the centre of midfield.

His best position is CB, play him there and sign a bloody midfielder who can tackle.

I am amazed that anyone thinks that a pairing of Ingimarsson/Sonko is better than Sonko/Bikey! Those 2 would be a potentially awesome barrier to any CCC strike force.

It's not just a matter of being giant, powerful and good in the air. A good CD partnership needs an almost psychic understanding, complementary positioning, and continual discipline. Ivar may have physical weaknesses but he brings other intangibles that I'm far from convinced you'd get with Sonko/Bikey.

But a much less well-marshaled and well-organised defence. Ingimarsson's value isn't just in how he plays himself - it's also the effect he has on the others, and I don't think either Sonko or Bikey is yet experienced or mature/focused enough to play that roll well enough.
