Dirk Gently Thanks for the back-handed compliment .... but the point I was making is what I highlighted in the quote - the others are perfectly valid reasons to snap someone up. But if someone is expensive and failing then surely that's a complete no-no.

Dave Mooney? His height is presumably one of the reasons why he was brought in when Kitson left; and his performances in the reserves have shown he definitely has an eye for goal. I would have thought that if we wanted a target man then it would only be fair to give him a chance to prove himself before we looked to bring in someone else.Mr Angry I'm surprised no-one has brought this up before, but Palace are looking to off-load their centre forward, Shefti Kuqi, in January to save on his reported £13K a week wages.
He is a big target man, a traditional centre forward, and would be (IMHO) an adequate replacement for Kitson.
