Tooting & Mitcham starlet Michael Antonio could soon be strutting his stuff on the Championship stage after the Terrors revealed they were locked in talks with Reading over a possible move.
The 18-year-old has attracted a swarm of interest after firing four goals in just six appearances this season.
And, after impressing in a reserve game whilst on trial with the Royals last week, Steve Coppell is eager to make a move for the speedy forward.
Tooting boss Bill Smith admitted: “It is certainly looking likely that he will go to Reading.
“The only hold up at the moment is that we are hoping to get him back on loan for the rest of the season.
“If we didn’t want that it would probably already be a done deal.”
Premiership giants Chelsea were one of a number of clubs that took a look at Antonio during Saturday’s defeat at Sutton United.
But the London club pulled the plug on a proposed trial after deciding the teenager did not fit their bill of requirements.
