Nathan Ellington free to leave!

by TBM » 24 Apr 2009 10:26

Nathan Ellington has been told he has no future at the club (Watford)

Could be worth a shout......we need a big black man upfront me thinks!

He's under 6' so someone has a strange idea of 'big'.

Not surprising that it's TBM....

Big = strong not tall - other wise i would have said "we need a tall black bloke" :|

Wolves have Ebanks-Blake
Swansea have Scotland

Both of them under 6' but still big fcukers...........i think you get the idea!

AlexY25 Lost form since he left Wigan.

Agreed. 5 years ago I would have been nodding my head vigorously in favour of this.

Deathy recognises money is tighter than usual and we will struggle to find a replacement for the outbound Kevin Doyle this summer after we foul up the Play-offs.

The Duke would be a good addition to what may be a fairly young looking side next season. Open your eyes and lower your expectations sister.

Frankly I'd much rather have a player who isn't a "name" and hasn't played at this level, but has been on reasonably good form elsewhere. Ratehr than a player who has done nothing since getting Wigan promoted about 5 or 6 years ago.

... and then suddenly walking out on them a day or so before the transfer window closed, because he thought West Brom were a better bet to stay up than Wigan.

Joke is on him.

I thought he was great when he got Wigan promoted. He did Ok at Brom, but since then. Nothing.

So many turn their noses up, but if we're a club in the summer minus Doyle, Kitson, S.Hunt, Harper and more, Ellington would be a great addition. We could be relying mostly on kids next season, and I hope they get a chance, but do you really want to trust Shane Long and Mooney with our goals? Don't be so short sighted!

Ellington aint the best now, but he's better than Long for a start!

This summer could be very eye opening and a rude awakening to many of you!

How many goals has Ellington scored in the last two seasons? How many has Long scored?

I appreciate that, but next season if we are a Championship club, we will have Noel Hunt and Shane Long as the recognised front two. Mooney as back up and possibly Bignall. I just think writing someone of Ellington's proven pedigree off is a bit short sighted when we will have a very tight budget available, and very limited choices in the transfer market.

Perhaps you're of the opinion we will make however many millions on Doyle, Hunt and Co and we will see a lot of it for new players.....just as we didn't last summer.
