So, basically you have to kill someone in a drunken hit-and-run before you get in trouble.

Reckon Lita's got a way to go yet then.

I was merely refuting the suggestion that footballers can't ever be charged with anything. Duncan Ferguson got done for assault four times and ended up doing time in Barlinnie FFS!

There has to be a distinct possibility that Leroy "£10k a week" Lita may have given this chap a few quid to withdraw the charges?

I'm sure it wouldn't have been the hardest deal in the world to broker, put it that way.

Scarface Good news, but I'd still look to move him on at Christmas.

Why? I am baffled by your incomprehensible attitude.

Way off the mark actually mate. It was only 2 weeks ago that 3 Bristol City first team players got sent down to serve between 4-8 weeks each for assault on someone (think was classified as GBH) outside a nightclub.
Recognise any theme emerging here? Maybe he was closer than he thought to 'getting into trouble'.

I think it's wrong to speculate on what might have happened. Unless you have some new information it's not helpful to anyone.

A colleague from the Bristol are who is a City fan said these got sent down because they were made an example of, implying that being a premiership footballer means your even more likely to feel the rough end of justice

Surely he could have been charged with affray or breach of the peace, why does the other fella dropping charges matter, he thumped someone, that alone should be an arrestable crime, regardless if the victim wants to press charges, although that could be taken into account at any trial /hearing.
