View from Newcastle supporting colleague

Excuse the need for yet another thread in these success induced thread-happy days.

JUst a quickie -

Had a chat with a very staunch Newcastle fan colleague today.

Surprisingly he was very complimentary indeed towards us.

Said how we were one of the best, if not THE best team he'd seen play against them at home!

He was totally shocked at how good we are, and said that no other team has ever dared to be so attacking as we were at their ground, and has the utmost respect for Reading for this.

He said it should no way have been a penalty.

But he humbly said he couldn't work out why their goal wasn't given.

All in all, very impressed with us and respected us loads for our attacking style of football.

Before this game he never realy took us seriously.

Just thought I'd share.

Got a similar view view from a Geordie leaving the ground. Whilst clearly pleased his lot had won he said we played by far the superior team football and liked our whole set up.He made the point about too many primadonnas in most premiership teams going missing including Newcastle and not enough willing to sweat blood for their shirt (rant about Milburn Shearer etc).Nice bloke.

same here - was at the game with some newcastle fans and while they were pleased with the result, they said that reading were unluckly not to snach a point, if not the win. also thought that it wasnt a penalty and that styles made a poor decision.

talked about our players very highly too, which is always nice to hear from long established premiership teams
